November 30, 2008. I ran a half-marathon today, my first, and survived. It was painful, but I loved it. And, in retrospect, I could have finished it a considerable amount faster, but as I ran past over-achievers who were, in the final leg, on the ground with cramps or strapped to gurneys and vomiting, I decided that for my first one, slow and steady was the way to go. I am no worse for the wear - a little sore (okay, a lot sore, anyone offering rubbing services of any kind? What good interlocutors :).
