Little Compton Mornings: Back in LC: Buttermilk III
http://littlecomptonmornings.blogspot.com/2015/06/back-in-lc-buttermilk-iii.html
Sunday, June 28, 2015. Back in LC: Buttermilk III. Actually, I’ve been back in Rhode Island. For just over a month now, but just got down to LC, where thoughts turn to baking and guilt about my on-life-support blog. A few friends from here have mentioned it, subtly (as in, “I haven’t seen the blog in a while”) or not so subtly (“Are you going to do the blog now that you’re here? 8221;). So here I am, sending this out to my few but fierce believers, after a month lolling about like a slug. By now you know...

Little Compton Mornings: Mint
http://littlecomptonmornings.blogspot.com/2008/06/mint.html
Sunday, June 15, 2008. Though the botanical family Lamiaceae. The famous spring asparagus. Goes nicely with mint. Mint’s refreshing, astringent qualities balance the grassy taste of asparagus and adds range to its somewhat limited profile. Pasta with Asparagus and Mint. Pasta makes for a surprisingly light meal in unseasonably warm weather. The secret is to barely dress it. Serves 2. 3 strips smoky bacon. 189; medium onion. 189; lb medium-thin asparagus, or about 14 spears. Salt, freshly ground pepper.

The Rhode Islander: March 2007
http://oceanstater.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
A depository of opinion, information, and pictures of the Ocean State. Thursday, March 29, 2007. Kathy Sierra sucks. Sorry, it's true. Necessary disclaimer: this has nothing to do with Rhode Island. That being said . I don't even know where to start with this nonsense. If you haven't caught up on the Kathy Sierra debacle, now is a good time. Blogger and author has cried foul. After "staring into the Goatse.cx. Of the internet's soul. A " Blogger's Code of Conduct. Oh no, not that. Of what, exactly? The h...

FOOD ON THE MOVE. March 18, 2010. Perro Salado [Newport, R.I.]. Newport, RI 02840. Perro Salado ("salty dog", in Spanish) is truly one of my favorite spots in Rhode Island. Tucked away in an 18th century cape in downtown Newport, the restaurant serves up many surprises in addition to delicious drinks and dishes. Individuals who loved Mexican food and tequila, and most importantly, found the "quirkiness and history" of the building irresistible. A view from outside Perro Salado}. Are in the spirit of auth...

Lil' Rhoady: March 2009
http://lilrhoady.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
A blog about Rhode Island, food, cycling, and all the rest. Tuesday, March 31, 2009. A discursive bit of ranting. But the greatest change we need to make is from consumption to production, even if on a small scale, in our own gardens. If only 10% of us do this, there is enough for everyone. Hence the futility of revolutionaries who have no gardens, who depend upon the very system they attack, and who produce words and bullets, not food and shelter. Of course, I am a product of my world. There's no ne...
