Pork and Tomatillo Stew | Rice Kernel
https://ricekernel.wordpress.com/2013/10/17/pork-and-tomatillo-stew
Nourishing the body and soul with a rainbow a day. Laquo; Banana Oatmeal Cranberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies. Pork and Tomatillo Stew. October 17, 2013 by ricekernel. Over the last year or so, I’ve discovered Rice Kernel loves pork. Shredded, fried, grilled, pounded-thin chops and, of course, cured pork products… you name it, my son will eat pork any which way and prefer it to other varieties of meat. Having successfully started off stew season with a rich, earthy beef stew. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Nourishing the body and soul with a rainbow a day. Laquo; Dark Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal Pudding Cookies. Chicken, Quinoa, and Kale Soup. January 14, 2014 by ricekernel. It’s been a few months since I’ve popped my head in. We’ve done a lot of cooking, as usual, but a lot less baking. Turns out, a family must eat meals, but not necessary sweets. Hah! Just kidding. Must eat meals? Yes Must eat sweets? That comes in the form of still-uneaten Halloween chocolates and various forms of dried, dehydrated fruit.

Nourishing the body and soul with a rainbow a day. Yes, I do, on occasion, tell myself that my favorite glazed, sprinkles-covered donut has a rainbow of (mental) health properties.). Strawberries, cherries, cranberries, raspberries, red apples, watermelon, pomegranates, red peppers, tomatoes, radicchio, red cabbage, beets, radishes. On July 29, 2011 at 8:43 AM. Haha, I love the last one.🙂.

Nourishing the body and soul with a rainbow a day. Laquo; Honey-Sesame Baked Chicken. Dark Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal Pudding Cookies. October 22, 2013 by ricekernel. My favorite oatmeal cookies (pudding-based), with crunchy edges and chewy interiors, punched up “healthful” additions, if you will! Dark Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal Pudding Cookies. 2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 3/4 cup light brown sugar. 1 (34 oz) package instant pudding mix (vanilla). Glad you added some...

The Cooking of Joy: Coconut Lime Sorbet
http://the-cooking-of-joy.blogspot.com/2010/07/coconut-lime-sorbet.html
The Cooking of Joy. I make people drool. Thursday, July 1, 2010. The ice cream maker in question is a Lello 4070 Gelato Junior, and I love it! No more needing to pre-freeze the canister; I don't even need to chill the ice cream base before starting up the machine! The only thing I miss about my Cuisinart is that I can't really get any good pictures of the ice cream as it's churning. One recipe I really wanted to try out in my new ice cream maker was this one. Makes about 1 pint. 1/2 cup fresh lime juice.

April showers… | thelowerfamily

Laquo; Easter at Nana & Nonno’s. May 2, 2015 by thelowerfamily. Well, that is what happens when we arrive at school and Daddy whips out his umbrella but the kids don’t have their own new umbrellas that we got for Christmas. We have fits. Instead of running into school quickly to avoid the rain, we shuffle as slowly as possible pouting the entire time about the fact that we didn’t bring our umbrellas. Lesson learned. We know who is in charge. So for the next rainstorm, this ensued. Well, using the umbrella.

Archive for February, 2015. On February 15, 2015 Leave a Comment. Since the kids have been mobile, we have cut down our trip-taking considerably. Trips because more stressful for us than fun and relaxing. Now that the kids are getting a little bit older and slightly more independent, we’re hoping we can stretch our wings a little bit and pick things back up! This fall, John decided to run the Disney marathon. It gave him a fun race to train for and a fun trip for the rest of us to look forward to! And we...

Archive for April, 2015. On April 30, 2015 Leave a Comment. We continued our annual tradition to go to the St. Daniel’s Easter Egg hunt. It’s busy but not overwhelmingly so. It’s very easy to keep tabs on the kids – and it’s not out of control with the candy. (OK, it’s still too much candy.). Jamie ready to get started. Lizzie waiting to get started. Lizzie on the hunt. Jamie on the hunt. Eager to open the eggs. Jamie with his basket of eggs. Lizzie finding an egg. Thanks for a super fun hunt! It always ...

Archive for May, 2015. On May 2, 2015 Leave a Comment. The kids have been invited to a bunch of birthday parties this year. It’s been mostly Jamie getting invited and sometimes their parents encourage Lizzie to come too! Enjoying a birthday party with Noah and Owen. Parties these days for the kids at daycare are typically at a place. We’ve been to places with gymnastics equipment, bounce houses and video games (like Chuck E. Cheese). Enjoying a birthday party with the Jabbens. Lizzie playing with the cars.

Friday, April 27, 2012. Goat cheese, arugula pasta. Do you love goat cheese as much as I do? This is one of my favorite pasta dishes, but yet, I probably haven't made it since being married. I was not sure how Aaron would like, but thankfully he proved me wrong and really enjoyed this simple weeknight dinner. Goat cheese, arugula pasta. 5 oz goat cheese, broken into chunks. 2 cup arugula, coarsely chopped. 1 cup grape tomatoes halved or cherry tomatoes, quartered. 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil. Archive for November, 2014. Trick or Treat – Anna and Olaf edition. On November 16, 2014 Leave a Comment. I started conversations early this year about how we would dress up for Halloween. I had a feeling that there might be some mind-changing and I have no patience for that! I was also a little stressed out that we would wait too long and not be able to find the costumes that the kids wanted! Olaf showing off his costume. Here are the kids trick-or-treating at the O’Brien house. Trying to stay warm.

The ABC Food Journal: Breakfast in Girdwood
http://theabcfoodjournal.blogspot.com/2012/09/breakfast-in-girdwood.html
Tuesday, September 18, 2012. We packed rather light for our long weekend in Alaska, so after our jeans got covered in mud from our hike, we decided to do some laundry in town before heading onward. While our clothes were in the washer, we enjoyed breakfast at the Bake Shop. Our timing was perfect because as soon as we sat down, a huge tour bus dropped off 30 people! After finishing our laundry, we returned to our hotel to take the tram up to the mountain top. The views were breath taking.

The ABC Food Journal: Onto Seward
http://theabcfoodjournal.blogspot.com/2012/09/onto-seward.html
Thursday, September 20, 2012. After our tram ride, we continued onward to Seward. We decided to take a quick detour to stop in Whittier, what an unusual town! We had to pay $12 for the one lane tunnel into town. The tunnel goes into town on the hour, and leaves town on the half hour. If you don't time it right, you'll have to wait until the next opportunity! The entire town lives in an old building used for barracks and officers' housing. After the Sealife Center, we wanted to hit Exit Glacier. En ro...
