Multimedia Reporter: Multimedia workflow presentation for SPJ Regional
http://multimediareporter.blogspot.com/2010/04/multimedia-workflow-presentation-for.html
Sunday, April 11, 2010. Multimedia workflow presentation for SPJ Regional. Below is a copy of my presentation weekend at the Society of Professional Journalists Region 7 conference in Omaha, NE,. One thing about PowerPoint: it’s easy to share them later, via SlideShare. All the links work. The videos don't, although I was able to upload the one about the lawyer searching for witnesses in Africa. It will play if you click past the slide to the next slide. Here is the related story. Who is this guy? There ...

Notes for my kids' therapist: May 2009
http://suzannetobias.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 23, 2009. That means makeup time and costume time and hanging out with all my Dance Mom peeps, which isn't a bad way to spend a weekend. Title of this year's performance for Rogers Ballet was "Hats Off! Hannah was in two numbers - an ice skater (see Courier and Ives-style skating-on-a-pond hat, above), and a Scottish dancer with a glengarry cap. Here's a pic of that one:. Ballet concert time is bittersweet busy, know what I mean? Links to this post. Sunday, May 10, 2009. Links to this post.

Multimedia Reporter: Quit fretting and just push 'record' already
http://multimediareporter.blogspot.com/2007/08/quit-fretting-and-just-push-record.html
Thursday, August 9, 2007. Quit fretting and just push 'record' already. 8220;What do we do now? That was the question after I gave my first audio training to reporters at The Eagle today. We started with audio, because I continue to read and believe, it's the first and most important skill we can develop. People may forgive bad video, some dangling participles, average photos. But hurt their ears and they will turn you off. Afterwards, my colleagues were complimentary and said it was useful. Talk to the ...

Notes for my kids' therapist: December 2010
http://suzannetobias.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 25, 2010. Notable moments, Christmas 2010. 1) Jack knocking on my bathroom - yes, BATHROOM - door at 6:30 am and then, once I emerged, staring up at me and saying, "It's Christmas! 2) Hannah in the living room after aforementioned wake-up call, shaking her head and declaring, "I TRIED to hold him off until 7, but I'm sorry. I couldn't do it anymore. I . . . I just couldn't.". I can't wait to wear my mittens! I'd even try things on and say, "Yes, yes, this will work very nicely." It...

Monday, January 10, 2011. 10/365: Snow, finally. Woke up to fresh powder, which is always nice. Even when school's not cancelled. I hope tomorrows picture features Jack doing something REALLY fun on his snow day :). January 10, 2011 at 10:45 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Notes for my kids' therapist: August 2009

Sunday, August 2, 2009. Glide-to-ride' makes biking easy. Jack took a bicycle safety course last week, and it reminded me of the day(s) he first learned to ride without training wheels. Then I thought about how that process consumed us - it was all he thought about and, consequently, all we thought about for days and days and days. Thankfully, we employed a pretty foolproof method that I share with other parents every chance I get. Indeed, riding rocks. And it's possible to learn without scraped knee...

Multimedia Reporter: Summer multimedia lessons: coming full circle
http://multimediareporter.blogspot.com/2011/07/summer-multimedia-lessons-coming-full.html
Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Summer multimedia lessons: coming full circle. It's really been an incredible summer. Amid 10 days of triple-digit heat in Kansas, I've received a few signs that maybe I'm starting to do things right. When I started this blog in 2007, there were few places to learn how to add multimedia to your work day. I searched the web to learn video and found Angela Grant's News Videographer. Blog I sent Angela my videos and she critiqued them. I read her tips and followed them. Journalism ...

Notes for my kids' therapist: January 2010
http://suzannetobias.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 31, 2010. In tears right now trying to wrap my head and heart around this news. From a high school friend of Randy's. She's one of the most upbeat, positive women I know - a middle school English teacher, which pretty much says it all, right? Not really sure what to think or say or do, except to say that I'll be praying for Kelli. Y'all please do, too. Links to this post. Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Remind me never to complain about my kids not making the most of school supplies.
