The blog of British artist Sheila Vaughan showing current paintings and activities. Saturday, January 31, 2015. I remember, I remember. Oil on hardboard 16" x 14". My mother always tied back my hair with a tartan ribbon. She had a penchant for all things Scottish. The hard lines came back but this one might get the "I'm all yours" treatment when she is dry. Not sure yet.. Posted by Sheila Vaughan. Splendid, I love the feeling of a drawing in this. Did you start with a drawing? Makes me think of Holbein.

The blog of British artist Sheila Vaughan showing current paintings and activities. Saturday, February 07, 2015. Acrylic on hardboard 9.5" x 7". Posted by Sheila Vaughan. I love this. Asking your face to tell you who you are. I sometimes wonder what people did before mirrors. That reflection as you are telling us with these paintings, is so vital to our being. I know - its odd isnt it. I dont look in a mirror much unless Im painting and then I find I want to look beyond what I see. I see (re-work 2).
