Ramblings

My adventures and thoughts as I travel down the slow lane and over the back roads. Saturday, August 15, 2015. I'm sure you are wondering how my little garden. Is faring. Why, very well, Thank you! The plants have survived and thrived quite nicely. The deer have discovered the plants and have nibbled on them here and there, but that doesn't seem to have hurt the food production. But, I think one of the best uses we found for zucchini was this amazing chocolate cake! This little cutie's first birthday!

Ramblings: A Three Hour Tour

http://www.richardglenenerobertson.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-three-hour-tour.html

My adventures and thoughts as I travel down the slow lane and over the back roads. Wednesday, July 22, 2015. A Three Hour Tour. One of the mornings while we were in Moab for the family reunion, I took a Colorado River raft trip. A gentle one. I admit, I'm a wimp. I'd never done anything like that before. I decided that spending a few days in Moab was as good a time as any to give it a try. Richard, Jill, and Karen joined me. Not just his looks, but his mannerisms, too. It was quite remarkable! The small ...

Ramblings: Basil, Cilantro, Tomatoes, and Zucchini

http://www.richardglenenerobertson.blogspot.com/2015/05/pretend-gardening.html

My adventures and thoughts as I travel down the slow lane and over the back roads. Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Basil, Cilantro, Tomatoes, and Zucchini. The previous owners left a nice large pot full of dirt on the deck. Perfect for sticking 3 plants in. We'll see what happens. When Matthew was here he remarked how the back of that berm would be a great place for a garden. Hadn't even thought of that! Stay tuned to see if I actually get anything for my money and effort. Labels: Around the House.

http://www.richardglenenerobertson.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

My adventures and thoughts as I travel down the slow lane and over the back roads. Wednesday, May 20, 2015. We made 3 trips to Longwood to see the tulips. The first time it was just too early. A few had bloomed but most had not. We tried again a week later and things were much better but still, many had not bloomed. We went again 4 days later and saw more tulips than you can imagine! Richard managed to find pictures to take on all three visits. We now have 215 pictures of tulips. But, OH MY! The challeng...

My adventures and thoughts as I travel down the slow lane and over the back roads. Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Instead of our Annual Bluebonnet Ramble. If you read my blog you know that for years Richard has taken my birthday off work and we have headed into the back roads of Texas to look at the bluebonnets. I have posts from 2010. This year I decided it was time to get back to old traditions. But without bluebonnets, what were we going to do? How about checking out the Washington DC cherry blossoms?

My adventures and thoughts as I travel down the slow lane and over the back roads. Saturday, August 8, 2015. In Which We Try to Appreciate ART. Couple of weeks back we headed up to Longwood. The occasion was:. Nightscape - A Light and Sound Experience". Nightscape transforms our Gardens into a living canvas where light dances with shadow,. Music fills the air, and your imagination soars. When the sun sets, your journey begins. Experience a new kind of beauty as you immerse yourself in the sights, sounds,.

The More the Merrier: October 2014

http://thoserobertsons.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

The More the Merrier. Friday, October 31, 2014. The Realities and the Lessons. Taking "Wear it out" to a whole new level. The realities start as you either have to seek out and receive welfare assistance or not pay your mortgage. At first this isn't so bad, but as time moves on and you still need help, and even more help, it gets harder for people to take you seriously. Are you really doing all you can to find a job? Maybe you are just a loser who can't do anything right? You learn faith is the best choi...

http://thoserobertsons.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

The More the Merrier. Monday, July 28, 2014. Susan is finally above her birth weight! She was weighed this afternoon and she is 8lbs 8ozs. She was 8lbs 4 ozs at birth. We are very grateful to finally be over that hump! John heard back this morning from the one place that had him write a couple of small programs after the phone interview. They said he passed the second part of the interview process and will have him come in sometime next week when their interviewer is back from vacation. Kate is a big hel...

http://thoserobertsons.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

The More the Merrier. Sunday, August 24, 2014. This Week at Our House #34. Nothing, nothing, nothing from jobs. Ruth went to a regional church dance last night and had a lot of fun. A couple of her friends from Salt Lake came up for the dance. Ruth seemed to enjoy her final week of vacation, and is excited and nervous to begin her junior year of high school tomorrow. Josh pooped his pants and I made him clean up most of the mess himself. He was very grossed out. I sure wish he would get this figu...Arwen...

The More the Merrier. Sunday, April 26, 2015. This Week at Our House # 17. John's job extended a bit for him to be the person to complete the web development portion of it. That's good. He had a job interview, but was not called back. I thought that was too bad for them, because John was a uniquely perfect fit for the job. He has two more phone interviews this week. Ruth's been busy preparing for AP exams. She dragged Kate to a school dance on Friday and they both had fun. Arwen has been talking more&#46...

The More the Merrier: This Week at Our House # 31

http://thoserobertsons.blogspot.com/2015/08/this-week-at-our-house-31.html

The More the Merrier. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. This Week at Our House # 31. We went to Pineview Reservoir as a family on Saturday. It was the first day that both John and Ruth had off all summer, so as soon as people woke up, we packed them all into van and spent the day at the lake. John apparently is not a great swimmer and doesn't like the feel of sand on his feet. But he was glad we went anyway. Adam was a bit of trouble at the Bean Museum when we went, but he was good at the park. I think he en...

The More the Merrier. Tuesday, August 4, 2015. This Week at Our House # 30. John had a meeting and got a new contract that extends him to the end of the month. Ruth had an ordinary week of work. We went to the lake on her day off and I know she had a real lovely time. Though she did get pretty badly burned. Kate did not go to the lake for girl reasons. But she cleaned the house and made peanut butters for the family. Rachel loved the lake and swimming out really far. She did a good job too. Suzy is getti...

Jakie, Matty, and Madison: Snowy Hallows

http://jakiemattymadison.blogspot.com/2010/01/snowy-hallows.html

Jakie, Matty, and Madison. Sunday, January 31, 2010. Madison decided to grow some fangs for Halloween, so we decided to dress her up as a vampire fairy. Jacob and Matthew were Stars Wars clone troopers. At the beginning of December, we got snow. As a result, the boys got a Snow Day. Jacob built a snowman. It had pepperonies for eyes and a piece of asparugus for a nose. Matthew and Madison also enjoyed the snow. Cute pictures of the cutie pies in the snow! And I LOVE the pepperoni eyes and asparagus nose!

Jakie, Matty, and Madison. Thursday, October 14, 2010. Fallen Behind, Part 2. Here we go. In May, my little Jackie turned seven. Next year, he will be baptisted. I just got real old real fast. At the end of the school year, Matthew had a party at his school. Down here in the South, we start early training them for NASCAR. Since vacations are kind of expensive, the boys and I work a day on an off-shore oil rig. We managed to not blow the rig up. :). October 15, 2010 at 9:56 AM. Ben and Hannah Nelson.

Jakie, Matty, and Madison: Christmas Season

http://jakiemattymadison.blogspot.com/2011/01/christmas-season.html

Jakie, Matty, and Madison. Saturday, January 1, 2011. The Christmas season began with Matthew's Christmas program. For some reason, the audio/visual people decided he needed a microphone right in front of him. At Matthew's school, they also had a Christmas tree set up during the Christmas program, so we took advantage of it with a photo op with Matthew and Jacob. We had visitors during the Christmas season so we did not set up a Christmas tree. Adorable children if I do say so myself! HoW MY dAys GO bY.

Yet, sadly, today I see yet another Objectivist circular firing squad loading up and it saddens and infuriates me.
