It was shame that Jess, Rose and Emily couldn't make our day out but we spent a very pleasant few hours with Ben, Suzanne, Jack and James, and Matthew and Sally (quite a boat load). We took part in the 2013 Open Gardens event last Sunday and welcomed 100 people into our small patch of Suffolkshire. Next Sunday, we're opening our garden again, as part of the Street Fair. Immersing ourselves in the peace and tranquility of the Fens. Tuesday, 9 July 2013. To take advantage of the fine weather and the predicted entertainment at the Ely Aquafest, Lady Saga and I went down to Ely at the weekend. As luck would have it, we found a fine mooring right on the waterfront where much of the event took place - a real ringside seat. Thomas the Sank Engine got my vote for being one of the first rafts out of the traps but one of the last ones to return. Imagine an IMAGE here).

I got to the boat on Saturday morning and the internal temperature was teetering around zero. Time to fire up the engine, light the stove and put on a brew!
