One Empty Chair: Entitlement Programs
http://oneemptychair.blogspot.com/2012/11/entitlement-programs.html
Wednesday, November 28, 2012. I heard it on the CBS Morning News this morning:. 60% of the Federal budget spending goes to entitlement programs.". Are you getting your fair share? Did you or are you paying your fair share? BTW - - In my opinion, CBS at least tries. To be a news program, whereas NBC Today Show is mostly entertainment, entertainment related, or Matt Lauer and Company trying to show us all what tough interviewers they are - regardless of whether they are learning any truth. You know, there ...

One Empty Chair: October 2012
http://oneemptychair.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 24, 2012. How we teach our children about money. MO and I have two daughters who are at the age where they need to seriously learn about about managing their money. We use the federal government and the way I want to run it, as our basis for teaching. If you spend all that, just go tell the rich kid you need more. If she refuses, tell her you will get congress to pass a law. The Chair thought Monday night debate was a draw. Mitt did what he had to do. "Create no openings" It is...Watch...

One Empty Chair: Here is what makes me angry now!
http://oneemptychair.blogspot.com/2012/11/here-is-what-makes-me-angry-now.html
Thursday, November 22, 2012. Here is what makes me angry now! I keep reading these "factual editorials" that say something to the effect that "The Republicans now have to wake up and realize that they lost the election, which is a clear indication that they are wrong and have to make fundamental changes and get in tune with the country. They have to accept that we the liberals are right." and on and on! I don't know where I got this, except "on the web.". Therefore, I cannot provide attribution. Now I ha...

One Empty Chair: December 2012
http://oneemptychair.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 17, 2012. There is already a great discussion mounting about "what we should do" in the wake of the Newton slaying. Saying that we should turn the other way will solve nothing. But saying we need tighter gun control, or we need this government service or that regulation, or whatever, really does nothing either. Yet there may be fundamental changes at work. Have we not continually "depersonalized" our interaction and our society through the use of technology? People are screaming for atte...

One Empty Chair: Grassley & Harkin 2 of 8 to vote against fiscal cliff bill
http://oneemptychair.blogspot.com/2013/01/grassley-harkin-2-of-8-to-vote-against.html
Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Grassley and Harkin 2 of 8 to vote against fiscal cliff bill. Mr Grassley voted against it because there was virtually no spending cut in the bill. Mr Harkin reportedly voted against it because there were not enough taxes on "the rich". CBS TV morning news reported that Harkin was one of the "super liberal" Democrats who did not want the tax increase threshhold set at $400,000 rather than at $250,000. I am with Chuck! And this is just the beginning of "four more years.". Have on...

One Empty Chair: September 2012
http://oneemptychair.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 28, 2012. Fiscal Cliffs and Financial Armageddon. 8220;Fiscal cliff”. Is a term often used to describe the conundrum that the U.S. government will face at the end of 2012. Basically we can have tax increases and spending cuts or. Or we can adopt a compromise position to avoid toppling over the cliff. It will have to involve spending cuts. Thus, I use the term F. To denote the end of the United States financial system as we know it today. A growing number of economists are writing th...
