Steph Steen - CI 5472. Thursday, June 18, 2009. Activity for Teaching Critical Analysis of News. Center5472: Teaching Film/Editing Techniques
http://center5472.blogspot.com/2009/06/teaching-filmediting-techniques.html
Thursday, June 11, 2009. I like the idea of using comics and graphic novels to convey the notion of visual storytelling to students. One excellent example I would use is Shaun Tan’s wordless book, The Arrival. We would also look at some silent film clips (e.g. Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd) and see how stories are told without dialogue. This could lead into a storyboarding activity. Patrick Morrow . Call me Ishmael. Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Post 1: Romano, Dornan, and Atwell. The Atwell article was very interesting in the approach it took to establishing a Writer's Workshop, and to have reading and language arts as separate entities really made me think more deeply about the subject(s).
