The Great Escape 2……….If Any Wives Read This, I'm Only Joking. Day 7 – May 6, 2009. May 12, 2009. We headed out from Beauty Point on Tuesday morning after the very hospitable Marion looked after us at The Riveria Hotel. A magnificent spot on the water, huge steaks for $14 cooked out on the BBQ, great desserts, cold beer and a log fire. Life doesn’t get much better than that! From Beauty Point we headed to Stanley. A small fishing village that features a big ‘Nut’. We stayed the night at the Stanley Hotel.

A great day riding when we headed out of New Plymouth on the “3” coast road and turned left at Hangatiki. From there it was about 60 kms of fantastic winding roads which were just brilliant. Saturday, October 3, 2015. Do you have what it takes? RAID 2015 is a 335 mile, one-day, bike ride/race across Iowa that starts in Sioux City and ends in Dubuque. In order to complete the race in the allotted time, riders must maintain an average speed of 16 mph. For those not quite ready to tackle the full 335 miles, there’s also the RAID Half. Riders can choose to ride the 167 miles from Sioux City to Webster City, or from Webster City to Dubuque. For more details. Registration closes on September 19.
