Deep in the Black Forest. We stopped at “the tallest waterfall in Germany” near Triberg, however were not impressed to find a fee of 4 per person to have a look! The term “tallest” is a little misleading. We were expecting a huge drop of water but found it to be more of a cascading waterfall. The scenery was beautiful nonetheless. The view is better when you earn it. We rode the length of the peninsula to the furthermost town of Oribeć. The sun was shining and the hills kept coming. We had a great ride, reaching the top of the hills we were rewarded with amazing sea views. It was hard work in the sun, but we weren’t complaining. Before arriving in Oribeć we had a fantastic descent with twisting roads and island views. All canals and windmills. 2016 ride&ride&ride Jake and Sarah's cycling adventures.

After two relaxing days in Bruges, we got back on the bikes and headed for the North Sea. We have made a rough plan for the last weeks of our trip. We now have 5 weeks to cycle to Berlin, which is our final destination. In this time we would normally cycle much further than Berlin (especially considering the terrain is so flat) so we will start to slow down. We have now reached over 5000kms and entered The Netherlands, our 14th country. The sun has finally returned and our towels are dry!

Tirol, the land in the mountains. We enjoyed many easy kilometres along the start of the Via Claudia Augusta. This was about to change as the 1500m Reschenpass awaited us. After riding around in circles and heading towards the wrong pass, a local cyclist guided us to the first part of the route. A guide book would have been handy at that stage! We only wasted 2 hours and 20kms. The climb began with some tight hairpins, but the grade eased for the majority of the way. All canals and windmills.
