You might be forgiven for considering Don DeLillo’s White Noise. But, for me, White Noise. Remains DeLillo’s signature work. What strikes most readers about the novel is its unique narrative voice, a tone of ironic detachment that evokes everyday scenes with cutting insight. White Noise. The narrative of White Noise. Amazon and Apple are now rivals in a new kind of Christmas chart, with the Kindle and the iPad bo...

narrative landscape: Liturgical piety (and knowledge)

http://narrativelandscape.blogspot.com/2006/08/liturgical-piety-and-knowledge.html

Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. An easter narrative and the meaning of life. Liturgical piety (and knowledge). Recently posed this question to me: If you were going to write a book on Liturgical Piety, what chapters and. Subjects would you include? In my mind, the reason why many evangelicals turn up their nose at a "high church" or structured liturgy is that it seems so meaningless from the perspective of their modernistic frameworks. Give me my forty-five minute sermon, thank you very much.

narrative landscape: Who's afraid of metanarratives?

http://narrativelandscape.blogspot.com/2006/09/whos-afraid-of-metanarratives.html

Whos afraid of postmodernism? Todays sign of the apocalypse:. Whos afraid of postmodernism? Liturgical piety (and knowledge). Who's afraid of metanarratives? What Lyotard seems to be arguing is that even though postmoderns do act as those who are suspicious of controlling narratives, it remains an inescapable part of being human that we are shaped and conditioned by those stories into which we are born and we eventually accept as our own. Incredulity is not the same as separation. Links to this post.

How to Succeed in Nonsense Without Really Trying

How to Succeed in Nonsense Without Really Trying. This blog is about the ridiculous life I lead. no matter where I am. Friday, December 24, 2010. Me and my Midget. We ended up leaving camp a day early that week because I got swimmer's ear and was in pain. I remember spending that last morning curled up with Midget, asleep in Mom's room while she taught one more class. We packed up and drove home. When I walked thru the back door, Adam was standing in the family room! My favorite line from "Milo and Otis").
