We spent a few days in New Plymouth, exploring town on bicycles and going for some day rides along the Surf Highway, which is the coast road looping around Mt. Taranaki, a perfectly conical volcano, technically active but currently quiet. Hmmm…. Where should we go next? Te Rewa Rewa Bridge in New Plymouth. Windsurfers surfing the waves.

It certainly is a city unlike any other. First, it is a busy and bustling city. For us, that meant over five miles of fighting absolutely chaotic traffic in tropical heat and humidity.
