Day 14 & 15 | Riding North

Day 14 & 15. We were stopped by fog just after leaving Petersburg. We dropped anchor just before the Wrangell Narrows and waited for the fog to clear. Once the fog had cleared we then had to wait for the tide to come back in so there would be enough water to clear the boats draft. While at anchor the crew rang a bell every minute to let other boats know we were anchored. We departed Ketchikan for Prince Rupert with an expected arrival of 3:15 AM.

Camped on the grass in front of the Red Lodge Inn in Chistochina AK, Monday night, at least I think it was Monday. I’ve pretty much lost track of the days, and that’s a good thing. There were also about 60 students from the University of Texas doing the Texas 4000, a ride from Austin to Anchorage that helps raise money to fight cancer. Starship Date, August 4, 2013. David didn’t join us as he was in need of a new rear tire so he headed east back to the Glenallen Highway then south to a Yamaha dealer in Wasilla for a new tire. We headed south on the parks hwy from Cantwell and met him at Wasilla little after 5 PM. We headed to Anchorage for the night. Marcus has to do some shopping this morning then we’re off to Whittier so it will be a short day of riding as it is less than 100 miles away. August 4, 2013. Day Ten →. Day 14 & 15.

Monday, September 25, 2006. I settled in at the house and ate a delicous dinner. They were all extremely hospitable, not to surprising as Newfoundland has a reputation for that. Late that night the storm moved in. I could here the wind howl all night and in the morning I could see the horizontal rain driving hard.
