Time flies… | Riding The Moor
https://ridingthemoor.wordpress.com/2011/05/20/time-flies
9 months… →. May 20, 2011. Goodness… It’s been 8 months since I last updated this. Quite a lot has changed during this time. I’ve got a new job, which is absolutely fantastic. My daily commute of 70 miles takes much less time than my previous commute of 35 miles. Odd really. I’ve only done about 40 miles on my bike so far this year, which is absolutely pathetic. I have to say that the lack of cycling really has impacted on my energy levels, which are through the floor at the moment. The ScandAL is favour...

I’m hoping this will be a challenging year. February 3, 2016. I originally set this blog up to chronicle my love of mountain biking and over the years had improve from a 1 hour, 4 mile slog to 25 miles in 90 minutes with the odd Manchester to Blackpool thrown in for good measure. Well I’ve not posted much about my mountain biking for a while now and there are a couple of reasons for that. 2 The big reason is that I discovered Road bikes…. I went from this. I then got this! I managed to sell the Decathlon...
done it! #July150 | Riding The Moor
https://ridingthemoor.wordpress.com/2010/07/21/done-it-july150
July 21, 2010. Not a massive distance, but enough was covered to get me over the #July150 target for this month. That means that July 2010 is the best month for cycling i’ve ever had. I’ve never got anywhere near this, apart from last months 120 odd miles that I did. Nevertheless I feel really good. Did as much of the ride on the big ring as I could to work my thighs. I’d post a picture of the stats, but my phone is playing silly buggers and won’t share it. 13 thoughts on “ done it! I’ve about 0...

Mud In My Eyes: It aint all sweetness & light
http://mudinmyeyes.blogspot.com/2010/08/it-aint-all-sweetness-light.html
Mud In My Eyes. The adventures of a fat (but getting smaller) girly biker. Leeds Liverpool Canal ride August 2010. Sunday, August 01, 2010. It aint all sweetness and light. I'm not a boy. I'm a girl. Possibly a tomboy thought past your teens that terminology seems inappropriate and I'd never dream of using it to describe anyone else for fear of insulting. I'm still a girl. It wouldn't have perhaps been so bad if the same thing but differently hadn't happened at Dalby (who, incidentally, have resolutely i...

Mud In My Eyes. The adventures of a fat (but getting smaller) girly biker. Leeds Liverpool Canal ride August 2010. Monday, August 02, 2010. I am, despite my better judgement, taking part in @phillconnell's August 150 target for miles ridden in a month. I must confess, the canal ride will form the body of my 150 miles and I am slightly ashamed of that, but riding that distance in 3-4 days will mean, hopefully, that next month I can do 150 easily just at weekends. Catch me if you can :O). Think permissive ...

Mud In My Eyes. The adventures of a fat (but getting smaller) girly biker. Leeds Liverpool Canal ride August 2010. Tuesday, August 03, 2010. Blogger just can't do what I need it to do any more - which is to keep the LLC clutter out of this blog. So I've moved to a Wordpress site. Which can do a little bit more. I'm still playing with it to make it look pretty but suspect that wont happen before next Monday when I set off. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget.

Mud In My Eyes. The adventures of a fat (but getting smaller) girly biker. Leeds Liverpool Canal ride August 2010. Friday, July 30, 2010. Arrive back at the house dripping, covered in mud from my tyres and with a bloody big grin on my face. Arrive back just in time to see boyfriend off to work. Laughter as he looks at my bike 'found the mud again then'. Always find the mud. Doing that again. Next time I might even remember my bottle. Thursday, July 29, 2010. I wasn't always so stupid. Mud In My Eyes. The adventures of a fat (but getting smaller) girly biker. Leeds Liverpool Canal ride August 2010. Thursday, April 29, 2010. There are some things you don’t want to write about. There are some things that perhaps should not be written about. Then there are the things that you know you must write about in order to drop the weight that the thoughts create, so that you can move on. So what relevance is all this? So why am I riding my bike? I chose these things because I can. My body deci...
Mud In My Eyes: Disproportionate expectations

Mud In My Eyes. The adventures of a fat (but getting smaller) girly biker. Leeds Liverpool Canal ride August 2010. Tuesday, July 27, 2010. So the question becomes - who am I comparing myself to here? And does it matter? There could even be the argument that perhaps somewhere deep down I believe that the faster I ride the slower the bad things happening to my body will catch up with me. It certainly can't do any harm at this stage. In the grand scheme of the mountain biking world, I am nothing. A litt...

Down with the Freaks and the Ghouls
Down with the Freaks and the Ghouls. I spend approximately two hours a day five days a week underground riding the Washington, D.C. Metro. Those two hours are rarely uneventful. Monday, October 13, 2008. Working on a federal holiday is almost worth it due to light traffic and half-empty Metro cars. Ah, but I typed too soon …. How could I forget what happens on the ride home during a federal holiday: TOURISTS! Flopping hard into the seat and slamming my bag underneath wakes her up a bit. Oh, wait, I can't.

Riding The Monorail
Sunday, November 13, 2011. Party on, Wayne. These "parties" are held around 20 times each. This year the MNSSHP ran on select nights from September 13 through November 1. MVMCP runs from November 8 through December 18. So what are these parties, so to speak? Pretty cool, actually. You can also see a video of his ride here: He rides again! The question I get a lot is "Do you think it's worth it? So what do you get for you money? Not in my book. The Headless Horseman is cool, but not worth paying $240 ...

Riding The Moor | A commentary on my improving attempts at Mountain Biking!
A commentary on my improving attempts at Mountain Biking! I’d forgotten this existed…. May 10, 2013. Just remembered that I had a blog many moons ago, which detailed my cycling trials and tribulations. So, what has happened since my last post, 15 months ago…. Got a new bike! Sensa Sella TNT Tour 29er, Quite a fast bike, not as light as my old Orange G2, but that was heavy before I replaced all the bits on it! Semi-converted my brother-in-law from a Golfer to a Mountain Biker. I’ve discovered Strava,.
