Riding Wild Natural Horsemanship. Training Update: 3 week groundwork. October 26, 2013. So here’s a video below of some basic liberty work. I’d still like to see him give a little more space and respond from cues a little more subtle, but I’m very happy with how he has progressed since I began training him. Hope you enjoy 🙂 Question and comments welcome. Bonus: A video of Kaity, one of my students, jumping bitless on her mare Cierra 🙂. Welcome to the Riding Wild Blog. October 22, 2013. Natural Horsemanship: What is too far? | Riding Wild Natural Horsemanship

https://ridingwild.wordpress.com/2014/01/24/natural-horsemanship-what-is-too-far

Riding Wild Natural Horsemanship. Natural Horsemanship: What is too far? January 24, 2014. I hope the snow hasn’t been too unfriendly on your side! I like to use the winter to take a bit of a break. I keep working, though I generally keep sessions shorter and simpler, both to give the horse some time to be a horse, and also because in my area it is very, very cold. To me, Natural is a bond, a connection, and something spiritual. It is establishing a relationship that allows for harmony and unity....What ...

Riding Wild Natural Horsemanship. Awesome Horses and Trainers. April 8, 2014. April 8, 2014. I wanted to take today to appreciate other trainers and what they do. There is always a lot of kerfuffle online about whether a trainer is good or bad or too young, etc. Almost all trainers have critics who will try to point out they are doing something wrong. Here are some things to consider:. You should only tack up on the left! 8221; or “No! Tack up on all sides! This, again, is totally one-sided. I’...Especia...

Meet Birdie! | Riding Wild Natural Horsemanship

https://ridingwild.wordpress.com/2014/04/27/meet-birdie

Riding Wild Natural Horsemanship. April 27, 2014. Last week I got a new horse! She is a quarter-horse/Morgan cross. She was allegedly green broke five years ago, but has since then had a foal and sat in a paddock since then. She was very shy and difficult to catch, and hadn’t made a bond with a human where she was before. She has integrated with the herd almost immediately, she even has a boyfriend who grinds his teeth when anyone comes near her. Super cute. What happened yesterday was a different story.

Riding Wild Natural Horsemanship. First Steps to Riding Wild and Finding Oneness. January 28, 2014. Everyone has their own way to “start” the training process, whether it be starting a new horse, or a new-to-you horse. A few of these include touching the horse, desensitizing it, roundpenning, etc. My advice to anyone asking me what methods to use is always the same: try them all, and figure out what works for you. So when we begin, where is the best place to start? If some of the horses come to check you...

Why I Ride

Sunday, June 21, 2015. Now that the Casseroll has a new home, and I have finished sobbing uncontrollably, I have picked up a couple items of interest. First is an old, but excellent condition Montgomery Ward 3 speed setup. It runs 26x1-3/8 wheels with a Shimano 3 speed grip shifter. It has "H" "N" and "L" settings, presumably for high, normal, and low speeds. I'll put my B-17 Brooks on and there will be more to come. My wife isn't too keen on me borrowing her Trek Belleville for errands. Rear rack is Tub...

Riding Wild

Not me, my old friend Anna has reached the tip of South America and is heading north on her bicycle through the Andes as winter sets in! Amazing pictures. www.wishfish.org For me, the urge to return for a ride through the Amazon is getting stronger. The road to cocuy and home. Back on the blacktop 3 of these guys ( one stopped for lunch) were traveling with loads of sugarcane with absolutely no human in. 50,000 miles plus without. South Americans just love to build things on top of mountains that overloo...
