Wednesday, March 9, 2011. Adjusting to Life in Bangkok. Sorry, the preceding blog, my call to Christ, has been interrupted by our move to Thailand. We've been here for a week and a half and wow, have we been running! God is good and provides all the time. Some observations I have made since moving to Bangkok:. Observing people in general, everybody wears some kind of good luck charm or amulet around their neck, on their wrist or on their fingers, or even all of the above! Riding the mass transit system- ...

http://southasiamissionary.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 6, 2010. This past Sunday, our executive pastor at. Preached a message on. It is the parable of the sower, in which Jesus tells about the seed of the Gospel-. Some seed that falls upon those who first receive it, but it is taken away by Satan. Some seed is received with joy, but since there is no root because it falls upon the hard hearted, or the rocky soil it withers away. The sower has the responsibility to sow seed broadly. Sowers of the Gospel cannot worry about whether or not the ...

Monday, October 18, 2010. With some frequent flyer miles I was able to fly to Sedona, AZ to visit my dad. It has been a long time since we have been able to just hang out and have father-son time. (I wrote about him in this earlier blogpost-. I was proud to go hiking, talk about and watch sports together and take a golf lesson, to which I completely forgot about when we got to the course! Crucified with Christ: April 2010
http://southasiamissionary.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 2, 2010. Why is Good Friday Good? It was Good Friday 2008. Our Hindu neighbor, who we were visiting, asked me the question. We had shared that we follow Christ, and she had a knowledge of Catholicism from the Catholic school she attended as a young girl. This is the day of Jesus' resurrection, that is why it is Good Friday, right? I said, "Good Friday is when Jesus was crucified and died on the cross.". How is that good? What kind of proof do we have? He was delivered over to death for our ...

Crucified with Christ: What About The 10 Commandments?
http://southasiamissionary.blogspot.com/2012/01/10-commandments.html
Tuesday, January 10, 2012. What About The 10 Commandments? 10 simple/basic rules to follow from Exodus 20:1-17:. Do not worship any gods other than God. Speaks for itself, the number one and most important of all the commandments. Some people ask or wonder if God is conceited by always talking about Himself. Why not? Isn’t He God? If He elevated anything or anyone over Himself, God would be breaking His own first commandment. Do not misuse God’s name. Remember the Sabbath Day. Give them the honor that th...

Crucified with Christ: April 2011

Thursday, April 14, 2011. Teaching English is not my strong point, and it is not what I had pictured myself doing here when we felt called to Thailand, but I follow Paul's example in. So, this is a time of being patient and waiting. This also is not one of my strong points. It is tough for me, but I wait on the Lord to use me where He will, to bring Him glory, not me. Crucified with Christ: December 2011
http://southasiamissionary.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 29, 2011. Who Is Jesus and Why Do We Need Him? If there is any question or doubt about who Jesus is, Paul writes about it in Colossians 1:13-23 and gives us clear teaching on the supremacy of Christ. The passage says in verse 18 that Jesus was the first to be raised from the dead. This statement is confusing to many, because wasn't Lazarus was raised from the dead (John 11) as was a young boy at a funeral (Luke 7), and a young girl (Matthew 9)? Links to this post.
