This is how I looked at Aid Station #1 at Mile 20 which btw took me 3 1/2 hours to traverse. Thursday, August 27, 2009. Blunt park 3/4 race and a clean slate. Now I'm really late and so I decided to have Jesse give me directions over the phone when I got close. So I'm driving around totally lost with Jesse giving me directions. Finally she points me in the right direction and I find the rear entrance to the park. Area, not far from the Sanders Preserve. Has several very steep pitches in the first 1/3 mile, with a few sections exceeding 15% grade (not visible on the elevation profile), and finishes with a moderately steep grind to it's termination at the intersection with Sanders Road. April 8, 2011 at 6:46 PM. How about snake hill, rector or washout?

Rising nearly 900 feet above the town of Berlin. Offers a steep and relentless climb for Rensselaer County riders searching for a little pain. The climb begins in Berlin, at the intersection of Route 22 and Plank Road. With a brutal, sustained pitch in excess of 10%, the climb lives up to it's name. There's only one way to get to the west from Berlin.
