Monday, December 08, 2008. Nutty delight recipe from Parenting magazine December/January 2004. Goody bag mix-ins by Jennie (moi). Making these yummy nuts has been our little tradition for the past 4 years! We love to put them into goody bags for Christmas each year. We always have so much fun delivering them to friends and family! 1 package (16oz) whole almonds, raw. Butter (to grease pans). 1/3 cup white sugar. 1/3 cup brown sugar. 2 tbsp vanilla extract. 189; tsp cinnamon. When nuts begin to harden, qu...

Thursday, July 30, 2009. I got this yummy recipe from my friend Lisa. Thanks so much Lisa for sharing your recipe! This bread is so moist and you can't even tell that there's banana inside.or whole wheat flour. It is definitely going to be the only recipe I'll use for zucchini bread from now on. But don't take my word for it. Taken from Lisa's blog with pictures by me). 1/4 C olive oil. 1/2 C apple sauce (trust me). 1/2 C sour cream (trust me, this is the trick). 1 2/3 C. brown sugar. 2 C grated zucchini.

Sunday, January 23, 2011. The girls and I love this oatmeal so much, I've made it twice in the last week! I even had it for dessert! It's a delicious clean eating breakfast! I love to serve it with vanilla flavored coconut milk. 1 can 14.5oz pumpkin. 1 tsp each pumpkin pie spice, ginger, ground cloves, vanilla. 3 cups old fashioned rolled oats. 1 ¼ cups water. Toppings: raisins (golden ones are great), slivered almonds, agave nectar or honey to taste. I totally remember you. How are you?

Wednesday, December 30, 2009. Chocolate Chunk Pecan Pie (almost like a brownie). This year for Christmas I made Trevor's favorite pumpkin pie. Actually, I made 2 of them. And I couldn’t resist making this Chocolate Chunk Pecan Pie. It's my new favorite pie. I practically ate the whole thing myself (over a few days period). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Tried and True Recipes: 12/01/2010 - 01/01/2011
http://whitingfamilyrecipes.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 13, 2010. This is a clean eating recipe, inspired by a recipe I read from a Clean Eating magazine. I never was a squash fan before. But the sausage stuffing in this recipe makes the squash not only edible, but delicious. I was amazed that my whole family enjoyed it. Plus, they look so pretty too! This recipe will make enough to feed a large family or to freeze half of the stuffing for later! 2 acorn squash (for small family and freezing the rest of the stuffing, otherwise use 4 squash).

Sunday, April 18, 2010. This recipe is from the show Zoom. About 3 years ago, Brynlee used to watch this show on PBS. She saw the children making this recipe wanted to make it too. I printed it out, put it in my folder and didn't make it until last month. Why did I wait so long? It's a weekly staple in my house now as a great and healthy dip for vegetables or pita chips! Here's what you will need to make it:. 1 can of chickpeas (garbanzo beans) drained and rinsed. 1 garlic clove, peeled. 1/4 cup olive oil.

Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffins. I got this recipe from my friend Evelyn. I knew they were a keeper when I couldn't stop eating these mini delights! I love the Costco jumbo sized muffins and these are an easy, healthy (from the pumpkin), mini replica. It also makes a great food storage dessert recipe too since all 3 ingredients can be easily found in your pantry. And don't worry, they don't taste anything like pumpkin after they've been baked. Just chocolate goodness! Chocolate...

Thursday, January 15, 2009. Spinach and Ham Strata. This smells so good while it's baking. We made it for dinner, using up leftover Christmas dinner ham the first time I made it. The sourdough bread is a must to make this recipe really stand out! 1 large loaf fresh sourdough bread, cut into 1" chunks. 1 glug of oil (I use canola). 1 pkg (10oz) frozen spinach, thawed and drained very well. 1/2 onion, finely chopped. 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped. 1 cup ham, cut into small bite size pieces. 5 pkg (8oz ...
