Hurry boy, it’s waiting there for you…. July 28, 2012. It’s almost 1 am and I can’t sleep. I’m excited – because tomorrow I’m heading back to Africa. But that’s not why I’m excited and can’t sleep. I’m excited because God has never failed to teach me more about himself and myself in Africa. My friend Mathokza once told me, “God doesn’t call you to Africa to change Africa, He calls you to Africa to change you in Africa.” And it’s true. But most of all, to see what God has in store. In the fall of 2012, we started missio dei:gso. I started this blog primarily as a way to share my journey and thoughts with that community. To wrestle with the story of Jesus and how it impacts my life (or more truthfully, how I want it to impact my life – hoping that by publicly putting those words down, my life will conform). Hurry boy, it’s waiting there for you…. →. Home by the Long Road. June 19, 2012. It seemed as if most Christian’s understanding of the life was to be reconciled to God so you could go to heaven. But if that were true then life had no meaning before the fall. Was there intrinsic value in life? What if there had never been a need for reconciliation what was the purpose of life? While what awaits us when life is done is amazing, there is much to do that we were created for. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Our Journey to Africa: #Blessed?

http://casselljourneytoafrica.blogspot.com/2015/07/blessed.html

Our Journey to Africa. The adventures of an adopted family. Friday, July 24, 2015. Or, to be more tech-savvy: #blessed. (the young people on my trip to Swaziland were sweet enough to help me try to be cool last week. They are the best). I have a real problem with this word. I don't think we fully understand what it means. I did a quick search on Twitter and FB for "#blessed" and this is what I got:. Great day at the beach! Look at this cool thing my kid did! Picture of me looking pretty} #blessed. Just a...

Our Journey to Africa. The adventures of an adopted family. Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Do you know all these names? Facebook is a tricky place. For the longest time, I tried to keep my posts happy and lighthearted with pictures of the kids and nice things. And most of the time, I try to stick to that. But with so much going on around us, sometimes I do want to use social media to support a cause or highlight an issue. Trayvon Martin - February 2012. Jonathan Ferrell - September 2013. Eric Garner - July 2014.

Our Journey to Africa: Why Christians Should be AGAINST the Religious Freedom Restoration Act

http://casselljourneytoafrica.blogspot.com/2015/04/why-christians-should-be-against.html

Our Journey to Africa. The adventures of an adopted family. Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Why Christians Should be AGAINST the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. In case you aren't hearing any news these days (happens to me sometimes): many states are enacting laws to protect the religious freedoms of individuals and/or businesses. My own state has one coming through right now. It's called the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA). Sounds great, right? Jesus loves me. He loves me when I'm awesome: whe...

Our Journey to Africa: I have to tell you something

http://casselljourneytoafrica.blogspot.com/2014/08/i-have-to-tell-you-something.html

Our Journey to Africa. The adventures of an adopted family. Friday, August 15, 2014. I have to tell you something. I have to tell you something: I have three children. Two sons and a daughter. One of my sons is white, the other is black (he was adopted). It breaks my heart that, based on statistics and research, and on the countless number of actual incidents of oppression in our society, the future looks much brighter for one of my sons than it does the other. This has to stop. Please don't tell me ...

This week I had the opportunity to do a radio interview with Stephan Jacob of the VoiceAmerica Talk Radio network. It was great to introduce Stephan’s listeners (many of them entrepreneurs) to Liquidation.com, and to offer tips for how to build an online business. In the hour-long format we had the chance to cover a range of topics, including social media, analytics, and how to successfully source product online. Check out the interview here. And let me know your thoughts. 24 January 2010 Uncategorized.

Rob Caskie | Story-Teller, Business Motivator, Keynote Speaker

Storytelling may seem like an old-fashioned tool, today and it is. That’s exactly what makes it so powerful. Life happens in the narratives we tell one another. A story can go where quantitative analysis is denied admission: our hearts. Data can persuade people, but it doesn’t inspire them to act; to do that, you need to wrap your vision in a story that fires the imagination and stirs the soul. Always confident with people, I thrive on the challenge and reward of entertaining audiences in the theatres of...
