What is Iyengar Yoga? What is Iyengar Yoga? Is the founder and namesake of Iyengar Yoga. This system of yoga is heavily based on precise alignment of the body, efficiency of movement and integration of body awareness and concentration. These attributes are taught through postures (asanas). As the student builds strength, learns balance and gains flexibility, a feeling of well-being and quietness comes to the practitioner. Iyengar yoga is often referred to as "Meditation In Action.".
