Friday, November 28, 2014. 8220;The War Prayer”. Mark Twain wrote it around 1905. It was rejected by his publisher and then it was found among his unpublished manuscripts after his death. Twain apparently wrote it as an opposition to the Philippines War of 1899-1902. O Lord our Father, our young patriots, idols of our hearts, go forth to battle - be Thou near them! With them - in spirit - we also go forth from the sweet peace of our beloved firesides to smite the foe. The messenger of the Most High waits!

Friday, October 31, 2014. Justice is defined in the dictionary as the quality of being just, impartial or fair. In recent times we've seen one side or another in demonstrations or news conferences demanding justice, but the way it's said, and the meaning implied, has nothing to do with being impartial or fair. It seems individuals or groups in seeking the quality of justice, get caught up in the phrase and use it as a rallying cry to address perceived wrongs. Rolland G. Smith. Thursday, October 30, 2014.

Thursday, August 13, 2015. 169;2015 Rolland G. Smith. There once was a fellow named Trump. Who got on the GOP stump. The debate was brash. Cuz he has the cash. And many now think he’s a chump. He’s arrogant right to the quik. At times his bravado is shtick. He’s boastful and mean. And many thinks he a P- - . Now what do we do with this guy. Who’s making a high office try. Do we laugh and ignore. And say he’s a bore. And hope that he soon goes good-bye. He might be a comfortable fit. Not a things begun;.

Thursday, May 28, 2015. One of the many things that bother me is the stupidity of the bureaucracy. A news story last night was that the military shipped Anthrax to a number of labs in seven states across the country via FEDEX, but the Anthrax was a live virus not a dead one as it was supposed to be. The Pentagon called it a mistake. A MISTAKE! Good grief, a mistake that could have and maybe will infect a considerable portion of the population. Let us hope not! Rolland G. Smith. Thursday, April 30, 2015. Sometimes, in the moments we set aside for creating, an idea blossoms into a work of art that is embraced by the collective spirit of appreciation. When that happens we label the art with many names: beautiful, inspiring, profound and graceful. All these superlatives are the children of elegance. CREATIV magazine is just that. Elegant. Check CREATIV out at CREATIV.com/magazine. Rolland G. Smith. Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Go Beyond the initial thought. For too long we modern hum...

Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Maybe real and fictional comments about the Iranian nuclear talks. I’m negotiating, but I don’t trust you to do what you say. You cheated in the past. Iran: I’m negotiating too, but I don’t trust you either. You spied, you hacked, and you cheated in the past. Great Britain: This is a sticky wicket. Can anyone séance Maggie? France: un aller-retour pour Paris, s’il vous plait. China: This agreement must have one from column two and two from column one. Russia: Dah, Nyet, Tseluyu!
