A Gypsy s Wish demonstrated the unique power of drama in building trust between very different groups of people. The Project Steering Group summed up their conclusions as:. There are non-Travellers who can be trusted. Travellers are prepared to get involved in Projects such as this. Ways must be looked at to encourage Travellers to get involved and have a voice. One of the older generation who was initially very sceptical now requests that issues be raised within the Project an indicator of its success!

A Gypsy s Wish was created in order to help communities develop a deeper awareness of Traveller culture, and to give people in the Travelling community a voice. Many different organisations became involved with funding or training, but the bulk of the work was done by Romany Travellers themselves.
