The Khartoum Network: November 2009
http://khartoumnetwork.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Pushing boundaries and buttons far, far away from New York City along the shores of DeNile. Here is the Gateway to India, a famous landmark in Mumbai. Besides being the launch site for ferries to Elephanta Island, it also marks where the British made their final exit from India. So, I suppose this is quite an important symbol of independence for most Indians. It's quite beautiful at night, as you can tell. I think this is where a million and a half lovers stroll at night! The Khartoum Network: Jen & Ben
http://khartoumnetwork.blogspot.com/2009/04/jen-ben.html
Pushing boundaries and buttons far, far away from New York City along the shores of DeNile. Zanzibar was perfect.have I mentioned this yet? Besides all of the R&R, we were able to see our good friends Jenny and Ben from Sudan. Unfortunately, Ben works for Oxfam, one of the 13 aid organizations that was kicked out of the country. So in just a few days, they were whisked away to Nairobi without much time to say good-bye. We have all felt the impact of not having these great people in our lives.

http://khartoumnetwork.blogspot.com/2009/04/hot-tamales.html
Pushing boundaries and buttons far, far away from New York City along the shores of DeNile. It is really hot here. Today I glanced at the thermometer at 9 am, and it was ALREADY 112 degrees in the shade. Reportedly it made its way up to 120 later on in the day. Did I mention that my classroom is NOT air-conditioned? My brain is meeeeeeeeeelting. (The students didn't need that excuse but definitely are using it! All I want to do is sleep. The worst thing is, everyone keeps telling us, "This is nothing!

The Khartoum Network: Brand New Year
http://khartoumnetwork.blogspot.com/2009/08/brand-new-year.html
Pushing boundaries and buttons far, far away from New York City along the shores of DeNile. Returning back to Sudan, we really had to do some major planning. It's really hard to figure out what "gourmet goods" are going to make it into your pack. This year we had a better idea of what we could and couldn't get here in Khartoum. Generally, less clothes and more food was our answer. Betty Crocker, Twizzlers, Goya, Pop-Tarts, Goldfish, Honey Bunches of Oats, Bisquik and Oscar Mayer! View my complete profile.

The Khartoum Network: Bahrain!
http://khartoumnetwork.blogspot.com/2009/10/bahrain.html
Pushing boundaries and buttons far, far away from New York City along the shores of DeNile. To celebrate Eid, we whisked away to India. Lucky us, we had the opportunity to stop in Bahrain on our trip. Although we were limited to the airport, we really enjoyed stopping in for some shopping and western food. I sipped an iced-coffee and Rach chowed down on all kinds of fried delights for an early morning birthday breakfast. While I love Rachels expression in this photo, Im ready for more updates!
