Back in October I went on a road trip with my friend Marit and her brother Reino and their friend Maris (all from Estonia). They were so cool! It was just bliss to spend the night in such lovely accommodation after a day of sensational views. Next stop was Santa Barbara. We went downtown for dinner. It was so pretty! There were lights and music and a real bohemian atmosphere. We also managed to find an ice cream shop with scrumptious ice cream! Our LA accommodation was awesome! Next up was Las Vegas!

May 23, 2015. Afterwards, we walked along the cliffs to the lighthouse turned surf museum. We saw surfers, memorials for dead surfers, a sea otter and some brown pelicans! I was so happy that I finally saw pelicans here. Also, seeing a sea otter was a big deal because, not long ago, they were thought to have been wiped out after being hunted for their pelts. They are protected by the government today. The museum was very small but interesting, showing surfing life from the 30s to present day.

January 26, 2015. When coming to a new place and starting a new job, anyone is bound to make some mistakes. I have already mentioned that I have made some driving errors since I’ve been here – I am so lucky not to have had an accident! This is just one example of the domestic mistakes and misunderstandings I have had with the family. I will learn a lot here I think.
