Alesha's School Shelf: March 2014
http://schoolshelf.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
A place to keep thoughts and ideas about our children's home education. Sunday, March 16, 2014. Learning how to read the Charlotte Mason way. Me, that is! The kids have been reading small portions of good books, and then stopping to reflect and retell what they remember or thought was interesting ever since I started reading about Charlotte Mason's homeschooling methods several years ago. When we weren't consistent, it was primarily because it was such an odd shift in how I was accustomed to reading.

http://schoolshelf.blogspot.com/2014/03/ferns-fiddleheads-and-other-fun.html
A place to keep thoughts and ideas about our children's home education. Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Ferns, Fiddleheads, and other Fun. :). Being from the DRY part of Texas, ferns were not part of the natural world I learned about as a kid. Mesquite blossoms or cactus wrens, yes. Ferns, not so much. :). That makes it all the more fun that our kitchen window looks like this:. They also counted the new, uncurling fronds, commonly called fiddleheads, and examined the undersides of leaves to see which had fruit ...

Current Favorite Curriculum Choices. Tuesday, January 14, 2014. A Precious Thing, A Precious Memory. The reason this Muzzleloader is my most prized possession, is because of my love for the master craftsman who made it! Today I want to share with you about this because it is the 5th anniversary of my grandfather's death. He made this gun for ME. His only granddaughter! It is priceless to me, because of who HE was. So, nope, this gun isn't for sale.ever! It definitely is something you have to see and touc...

Thursday, May 15, 2014. The Family of Unity.of sorts. Yesterday morning I woke abruptly due to my body's need to cough. COUGH COUGH. Immediately following, I heard the sound of Levi: COUGH COUGH. Then Dan: HACK HACK. And finally Nathanael followed suit with us all and finished with a semi-muffled HRUCK HRUCK COUGH. Now I think Noah is learning this new "trick".sigh. Oh the joys of a family that shares so generously! Thursday, May 15, 2014. Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Wednesday, May 07, 2014.

http://thetaylorites.blogspot.com/2015/07/noah.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Noah's birthday was an adventure in two parts. His gift from his siblings was that they stayed up the night before his birthday blowing and. Tying 70-something balloons to fill his room with. :). A couple of days later, Taylor was given the privilege of baptizing a young man from the States, who is volunteering here for the summer. He has walked with the Lord for a while, but wanted to take this step in obedience. Consequently, we were "forced" to visit one of our.

http://thetaylorites.blogspot.com/2015/06/pictures.html
Monday, June 15, 2015. Sorry for the lack of pictures lately! Way cooler than tying your tooth to the doornob. Noah LOVES to walk around in the rain. :). But for that matter, we all like playing in the water. The kids and I had a lovely morning in the river. Noah and I hung back and let the big kids do the serious exploring. Levi took it on himself to help Nate;. It was neat to watch him encourage him along. And finally, even though it was several months ago,. Here is what I woke up to on my birthday.
