running in stitches

Sit back and relax while you look through the meanderings of a textile nut trying to make art from whatever inspiration and materials come to hand. Friday, January 9, 2009. Now it is 2009, where do the years go? I really must be more disciplined, decisive and dedicated. I hope anyone who reads this likewise has some resolutions, and has a happy time carrying them out (or not - as the case may be). Labels: 2008 in Retrospect. Wednesday, April 16, 2008. This is the naked block (sorry about the background!

running in stitches: October 2007

http://runninginstitches.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html

Sit back and relax while you look through the meanderings of a textile nut trying to make art from whatever inspiration and materials come to hand. Friday, October 12, 2007. Monday, October 1, 2007. I took too long to get the photo up to take part in the judging, but since I don't really care for peer judging that's no big deal for me. Not sure yet what this will become - maybe part of a book/journal cover. Labels: lace and weddings. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

This is the naked block (sorry about the background! This is a combination that I love to use. It isn't very easy, as your colour range is quite restricted, but it looks fabulous when done - so elegant, subtle and restrained. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). running in stitches: Lutradur and Lace

http://runninginstitches.blogspot.com/2007/10/lutradur-and-lace.html

Sit back and relax while you look through the meanderings of a textile nut trying to make art from whatever inspiration and materials come to hand. Monday, October 1, 2007. This was made in response to a challenge issued by a new e-zine 'Fibre&Stitch' - to make something out of Lutradur, lace and scrim. This is my response, using black Lutradur, various black laces and nappy/diaper liners which I painted gold and heat distressed. I added little gold highlights, plus some embroidery and beading.

running in stitches: August 2007

Sit back and relax while you look through the meanderings of a textile nut trying to make art from whatever inspiration and materials come to hand. Saturday, August 25, 2007. It appears that I haven't yet cottoned on to loading more than one image per post, so that will mean multiple posts until I learn. Between the pleats are small blue-dyed pearl discs. Again it has been stitched to a black-painted base. I quite like this little vessel. It is about 10cm in diameter and 15cm high. Friday, August 24, 2007.

Running in Stereo | The Soundtrack for a Balanced Life

The Soundtrack for a Balanced Life. 2011 Falmouth Road Race. July 12, 2013. When I signed up for this year’s K9 5K, I wasn’t sure if I was mentally or physically ready. Winter flab.be gone! I'm not exactly sure what inspired me to write today after a yr. off, but here I am. I'm not going to list excuses why I haven't blogged in so long, truth is.I just haven't really felt like it. LOL. I'm not a writer by nature so I have to get in "the mood". Apparently, today was the day! This past winter I got lazy, not even gonna lie. I had zero desire to work out or to eat super healthy. I enjoyed every minute of it too! I keep thinking there will be a day I'm not sore afterwards, ...

running in systems | Biological, psychological, and social systems affect our development of speed, power and endurance. Let's discuss them candidly.

High-intensity fitness culture, explained in systems: Physiology, evolution, overtraining in ultrarunners, and what it means for the rest of us. August 11, 2015. In the modern approach to training and fitness, the idea that you should (or need to) train at a low intensity is utterly neglected. This neglect is a huge problem. It benefits the few, and harms the many. And even when it works, it only does so up to a point. Bit into this issue with great abandon. The. A lot of stress. It’s not that you won’t.
