best part of the day: a seat in the sun
http://bestpartday.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-seat-in-sun.html
Best part of the day. Thursday, 6 August 2015. A seat in the sun. Dry dam tonight and 5 x 3mins. Just four - Iain, Fergus, Graham and I. Proof that when Iain turns side on he disappears. I was too busy breathing hard to take any photos while training. Afterwards we jogged up to the top. As the crow flies NB Law = 19miles, Bass Rock 22. 7 August 2015 at 02:04. So many medals that your walls cant take it! As always, stunning photos. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Baddinsgill Round Hill Race. Runswitht...

best part of the day: August 2015
http://bestpartday.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Best part of the day. Monday, 31 August 2015. I stepped off the crowded train of holiday makers to meet Nick and after getting a signal we set off up North Berwick Law. The skies were pretty clear and the view out to the Isle of May was sharp. There was a background sense of urgency so we didn't hang around. However it wasn't race pace either. Also we spent the whole time chatting. Spider getting in on the act. This panorama completely distorts the first floor. If you are familiar with Trap Law race you ...

Stuart's Blog: BEEP...BEEP
http://www.stuart-hay.com/2014/03/beepbeep.html
Running, Jazz, Coffee and Cake. Monday, 17 March 2014. Tried something a bit “unusual” for me yesterday on my LSD. Nothing spectacular … but I turned off the sound on my GPS. I kept on the autolap feature, just turned off the “beep” every time it clicked over another mile marker. I also did a circuit that I’ve dome many, many times before.but I ran it the “wrong” way round. Instead of what is normally a large 18 mile clockwise route I did anti-clockwise. Stuart's Blog: January 2010

Running, Jazz, Coffee and Cake. Sunday, 31 January 2010. KNEE DEEP IN THE NORTH SEA. Well, today saw me return to the world of competitive running - at last! After injury, holidays then races being cancelled it was finally time to don vest, pin on number, warm up, stand in a line then test my metal against others. The Berwick On Tweed leg of the Borders Cross Country series. And a cold, windy and wet experience it was. And I loved it! Still It's a race and it's the same for everyone. Main thing is. I...

Running, Jazz, Coffee and Cake. Wednesday, 2 July 2014. AS PETE AND DUD WOULD SAY. OK unless you haven’t guessed…this blog is all but dead and buried. It MIGHT come back at some point … or it may get posted to on the odd occasion when I feel I have something worth saying. There you will find my never ending words of love, admiration and respect for the tireless lads and lasses of the Scottish Civil Service, my hopes for a sunnier, happier Scotland under the benevolent, paternal care of Wee Eck and review...

Stuart's Blog: April 2010
http://www.stuart-hay.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Running, Jazz, Coffee and Cake. Friday, 30 April 2010. Ended up taking part in the interval session last night. I had gone out a run earlier, fully expecting to be on stopwatch duty. But Theresa, who is injured, offered to stand in - so I got to take part. Not sure that a full blown interval session is the best preparation for tomorrows Edinburgh to North Berwick race - but then again neither was Wednesday's hilly 19 miler! It's easy to see how "Somethin'" became the real classic that it is. It was r...

Running, Jazz, Coffee and Cake. Tuesday, 31 August 2010. IT'S WHAT ANY IDIOT WOULD DO. It's a strange thing with injuries, niggles, pains and what-nots, their arrival is often sudden, and painful, but their departure is slow and protracted ( and "yes" that includes the "Duke of Argylls"). Still not fully rid of Mr Sorerib, but feeling better than I've felt for weeks now. So, with the recovery on track I've gone and done what any idiot would do - I've entered the Loch Ness marathon! Three weeks with high ...

best part of the day: North Berwick Law Race
http://bestpartday.blogspot.com/2015/08/north-berwick-law-race.html
Best part of the day. Thursday, 6 August 2015. North Berwick Law Race. Great photo posted by Caroline M. But since she is in the photo someone else must have taken it.). Great to see Ben well enough to "race" and although he promised to take it easy was not too many minutes down on his 2013 time. By the way if anyone knows where I can find the results for the Portobello Leg of the ELSS please let me know as someone is emailing me regularly asking about them. Charlotte, first lady. A couple of folk went i...

Best part of the day. Monday, 30 March 2015. Wild weekend weather - cancel everything! Just as Spring seemed to have arrived a low pressure squatted over the country unleashing high winds and low temps. While certain smartie-pants say stuff like there's no such thing as bad weather, you just have to have the right clothes for it etc. Then the sun came out and it was pretty nice for a moment or 2. There was also a strong wind giving everything below the knees a sand blasting. The bridge to nowhere. Knowin...
