A Story behind paintings. The Sweet Grass Basket series started in 2003, as inspired by Mrs. Elizabeth Kinlaw from Mt. Pleasant, SC. She asked me to do a portrait of her and her husband for a Christmas gift. Instead of payment, she made me a large basket and that is the first of the sweet grass basket series. Each painting has been named after the weaver or basket owner’s name with stories to tell. Proudly powered by Weebly.
