Observing the Beauty of the East End. Saturday, April 19, 2014. Back to Bridge Gardens. It was a beautiful day to be back at Bridge Gardens. Lois kindly started us with the basics. She had us paint blocks to practice the basic techniques. Wash, graduated wash, two color wash. my favorite term was "charging in" which describes touching a loaded brush of paint onto the wet surface of the paper. Watercolor by Lois Bender. I looked down and saw this little guy scurrying among the rocks. Sunset Beach in North Haven looks promising. Love the colorful boats. The Shelter Island ferry landing has some lovely views. Observing the Beauty of the East End. Saturday, August 15, 2015. Summer Still Lifes and Landscapes. Summertime food shopping is a visual treat. Everywhere I look, I see a painting. Squash piled beneath sunflowers and beautiful arranged fruit are still life vignettes. A cornfield bordering a barn, is a landscape painting. Ordinary kitchen items when pared with summer's bounty become painterly. Is a way to visit the Hamptons and North Fork vicariously. I am fortunate to pickup Edible. La Table De Nana.
