House From 1800: School Cabinet Possibilities
http://housefrom1800.blogspot.com/2014/02/school-cabinet-possibilities.html
Home Renovation DIY-style. Well, sort of. Monday, February 3, 2014. This is the school cabinet. For the longest time we kept it in the living room to house backpacks, boots, umbrellas, hats, coats, gloves and more - everything needed for school - all in one place. Before pic of the school cabinet. The finish is shot on the school cabinet though, and I can't help thinking how different it might look covered in a shiny enamel, two-tone paint treatment. What do you think? You know I'm loving this :). If you...

House From 1800: Projects
http://housefrom1800.blogspot.com/p/the.html
Home Renovation DIY-style. Well, sort of. So you may remember the vintage picnic basket I salvaged from the attic:. These are a few of the really cool pics I found online, of things crafty people have done to their old picnic baskets. So many choices.only one basket:). This Chalk Board Basket from the folks over at Thrift Core. Pretty darn nifty, I think. She made that herself. Isn't it awesome? Or How about this from Heaven's Walk. Had this idea, to which I can totally relate:. And though I tried and tr...

House From 1800: Snow and Homemade Noodles
http://housefrom1800.blogspot.com/2014/02/snow-and-homemade-noodles.html
Home Renovation DIY-style. Well, sort of. Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Snow and Homemade Noodles. So, there's another 14 inches of snow moving in overnight. All the schools in three states are closed in anticipation, and everyone is on the snow watch here. So far it's just a light dusting on the windshield of the car, but by morning, the great outdoors should be quite impressive. Do you have a favorite comfort food? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). House From 1800: A Vintage Tablecloth at the Window
http://housefrom1800.blogspot.com/2012/12/a-vintage-tablecloth-at-window.html
Home Renovation DIY-style. Well, sort of. Friday, December 7, 2012. A Vintage Tablecloth at the Window. I changed my mind about the kitchen curtains. I still like the idea of incorporating yellow and black into my vintage-theme kitchen, so I dug through the tablecloth drawer and found a pale yellow vintage tablecloth that hub's grandmother gave us awhile back. It's linen and too nice to cut into, so I folded it carefully and attached black rings. So simple, no sew, vintage window treatment. Strike that&#...

House From 1800: Trash-Bag-Raiding Squirrel
http://housefrom1800.blogspot.com/2014/02/trash-bag-raiding-squirrel.html
Home Renovation DIY-style. Well, sort of. Tuesday, February 18, 2014. So the trash guys haven't been around in over a week due to the snow that falls daily. This means we have a few bags of trash setting out on the back deck. Today, the trash bags had a dinner guest. In the famous words of Dug. Part of the appeal of The House is the back yard that borders Antietam Creek. In early spring we get wild geese coming in off the creek. They bring their babies whom we get to see grow up. House From 1800: A Bead Board Backsplash
http://housefrom1800.blogspot.com/2012/11/so-my-latest-project-is-kitchen.html
Home Renovation DIY-style. Well, sort of. Wednesday, November 7, 2012. A Bead Board Backsplash. So my latest project is the kitchen backsplash. After going back and forth between glass tiles, natural stone, and wallpaper that looks like real brick, I logged onto Pinterest one night and had an epiphany. Bead board was perfect! It looked relatively easy, sounded affordable, and I was pretty sure I could do this all on my own, plus it would give the kitchen that vintage farmhousey look I love. All together,...
