We now go almost directly from a month or more of preparing for and celebrating the demon inspired holiday of Halloween to directly into the radical consumerism of Christmas. Thanksgiving is completely by-passed! It is appaling that we will not take time to be thankful in our hearts if not to God than at least simply in our hearts as a culture. To All my baking friends who responded to my bi -anual experience of baking cookies…here’s the recipe… (Thank you Colleen Smith, my darling neighbor! 1 C grated zucchini. 2 C flour (more as needed). 1 tsp baking soda. 1 C chopped nuts. 1 C choc chips. In mixing bowl, cream together the sugar, egg and butter. Add the rest and mix well. Drop by teaspoon 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 8-12 minutes. July 17, 2009 / 11:53 pm.
