Gray Eyed Scorpio: January 2012
http://grayeyedscorpio.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
An annotated list of books I've read in 2011. Sunday, January 15, 2012. Further Progress in the Kitchen. I decided that a painted backsplash is best for me. I change my mind too often to choose tile. Bead board is groovy, but I don't have the extra wire length in my junction boxes to move them forward to allow for the space. Tin is too shiny. Mirrors too smudgy. Yup; paint is just right. The couple who blogs about their faux tile back splash painting business. Peeling off the tape was scary and disappoin...

My lovely step-daughter- Amy, her wonderful husband Paul and our adorable grandson Bennett came to stay with us for the weekend. Amy brought her sewing machine, several projects to work on and oodles of lovely fabric for me to drool over. On break times, I got to snuggle baby Bennett. The boys napped while we sewed. It was a great weekend! On Sund...
40 Quilts: December 2012
http://nans40quilts.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Creative quilting and other crafty things. Wednesday, December 26, 2012. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I am working on the binding for the charity quilt I am making and wanted to show you what I am doing. In this next photo I drew another line a half inch towards the corner and then stitched on both of these lines. I then cut a quarter inch from the first line which gave a quarter inch seam to the binding and a quarter inch seam to the triangle.. I pressed the seam open.. Links to this post.

http://bravingboyhood.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Braving Boyhood - My Journey on Raising Boys. Monday, May 2, 2011. First off, I must say that I can't believe that Eli is five years old. Isn't it funny how it seems like just yesterday he was born, but it feels like I have known him forever? As soon as he woke up I told him "Happy 5th Birthday" and he looked at me almost like he was in shock and said "Am I really five now? His party was at 3:30 in the afternoon and all I heard all day was, "Is it time for my party yet? Happy 5th Birthday Eli! Several ye...

A pottery blog and podcast by NC potter Michael Kline. Friday, June 26, 2015. New Kiln a Go-Go. I've launched an IndieGoGo campaign to fund the construction of a new soda kiln. Here's what I wrote to introduce the project: As a potter, the kiln. Is a critical tool, and an enormous investment and commitment. The wood kiln I built in 2002 has served me well, and will still be fired several times a year. I have been working with master kiln builder, William Baker. To contribute to the project click here!
Sawdust and Embryos - ...because some things need to be done manually.
Because some things need to be done manually. Once-a-Month Groceries / Meal Planning. I mentioned in passing on our Facebook page. That I hadn’t been shopping for 6 weeks. Well the truth is, we were out of town quite a bit this summer (thus not eating as much food at home)… so it was a little misleading. We typically hit the grocery store every 4 weeks or so. But after inquiries from lots of curious readers and friends, I thought I would share some details anyway! When we moved to our farmhouse. I know l...
