The Self-Taught Bad Chef. One woman's misadventures in the kitchen! Newer posts →. Not Only Am I a Bad Chef. September 12, 2010. I’m a bad Shef too. And I’m too impatient. I signed up for Twitter, as you can see, and I quickly typed all of the required fields in. I did not (obviously) check my work after hitting the create my account button. So if you twit or tweet or however you call it, you can find me as stbadshef. Where’s the Sugar? September 10, 2010. And this recipe just wasn’t it. I brushed the fi...

The Self-Taught Bad Chef. One woman's misadventures in the kitchen! Peanut Butter Fudge Surprise! November 5, 2010. Another Paula Deen recipe here. Well, sort of. Lots of people make chicken fried steak, and it is one of my husband’s favorite foods. I have never had the guts to try it, but since the cube steak required for it was on sale this week, I decided to give it a shot. I browsed a couple of recipes, Paula’s and Alton Brown’s included. Then in egg wash, (milk and egg whisked up):. You are commenti...
Problems with Pastry | The Self-Taught Bad Chef

The Self-Taught Bad Chef. One woman's misadventures in the kitchen! An Epic Win and An Epic Fail. Peanut Butter Fudge Surprise! October 22, 2010. The first time I made pastry for a pie, I was in high school taking a cooking elective. my teacher praised it, saying I made a perfect, flaky, delicious pastry. That must have been beginners luck, because I had no luck with my pie pastry today. I stink at it. See how it looks without the top layer? See Betty underneath, mocking me? I start out ok:. Maybe we wil...

The Self-Taught Bad Chef. One woman's misadventures in the kitchen! An Epic Win and An Epic Fail →. The Sous-Chefs Took Over. October 10, 2010. I’m sick again, so very little cooking has been done. Today, my oldest sous chef decided to make lunch for her and her cohort. She made cheese sandwiches with Miracle Whip and sweet relish. There was also a side of applesauce. Not bad for a five year old! Part-time college student, full time wife and mother, and occasional self-taught bad chef! My Cat Zoro and I.

The Self-Taught Bad Chef. One woman's misadventures in the kitchen! Chicken Fried Steak →. Peanut Butter Fudge Surprise! November 4, 2010. Today was a Paula Deen kind of day! One of the episodes that we watched was an old one that showed her super easy, but very different peanut butter fudge. What makes this fudge so different? That is a big box of Velveeta in with the two sticks of butter and the peanut butter. And believe it or not, the Cheese Peanut Butter Fudge. Once the butters and cheese were all m...

Crazy Cake Company: AT-AT Walker Surprise
http://crazycakecompany.blogspot.com/2009/12/at-at-walker-surprise.html
Curious tidbits and more pictures.think of it as the "Special Features" section on a DVD, but about cake and without the DVD player. Sunday, December 20, 2009. Let me start by saying that I'm violating one of my basic blogging guidelines by posting this entry. I'm a stickler for sequential blogging but I'm just soooo excited about this cake and there's too many blog items in queue before this one, lol. So I guess I was saving the best and most difficult for last. LEGO Motorized AT-AT walker. Making this ...

Monday, October 25, 2010. Well still no word fron the NAACP. I suppose that I shouldn't hold my breath waiting to hear from them. I'm sitting here waiting to go to an appointment, and listening to Neil Bortz. You guys should really listen to this guy. I haven't found anything he says to not make sense. You can listen to him live here on WSB out of Atlanta. I'll be back on later, after my appointment. Should have something interesting to post about.but then again you never know about me.

Random Thoughts: July 2012

Wednesday, July 11, 2012. I have been wondering lately why it is wrong to require a picture I.D. for someone to vote in a federal election, such as the presidential election? How is it some sort of discrimination to require I.D. to vote, but it is not discriminatory when police officer asks you to provide proof you are legal to operate a motor vehicle, during a traffic stop? Random Thoughts: Welfare
http://bsimmonsrandomthoughts.blogspot.com/2011/07/welfare.html
Tuesday, July 19, 2011. In this country the "poor" are not so poor. All the time I see people in the grocery store using that EBT card to buy junk. These people have an average grocery budget of more than $500 a month. Why? I do it because I have self respect. I feel it is my responsibility to provide for my family not the government's. http://bsimmonsrandomthoughts.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 8, 2010. OkNow I was all set up to have a good day and spend a little time writing about the NAACP. That was all changed when I went to Neil Bortz website and watched a clip from Fox News. It seems our Great Ruler has decided that it was a good idea to report to the UN that the American people's aversion to unionization, is a civil rights violation. Ok.moonbat syndrome anyone? Isn't the government supposed to protect our rights? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

http://bsimmonsrandomthoughts.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Back to the grind! Well we had a very nice vacation up in Pensylvania. We stayed with my wife's Aunt, went to the zoo, had a few "pick-nicks" with my father-in-law. Over all it was a great time. Now we are back to the normal routine. Back to keeping the house clean, back to work, and back to life. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). North Carolina, United States. http://bsimmonsrandomthoughts.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 27, 2010. Here lately all I hear is how the opposition to the Ground Zero Mosque, is hatred towards Muslims. How? No one is telling these fruitcakes that they can't build this place, just that they don't want it built so close to a place where so many of their friends, family, and countrymen died in a horrible, horrible attack. An attack by Muslim extremists. I don't see the problem here, and so I suppose that makes me just another hatemonger. So be it! Friday, August 20, 2010. November 20...

Random Thoughts: Unions
http://bsimmonsrandomthoughts.blogspot.com/2011/02/unions.html
Tuesday, February 22, 2011. Well I have a few thoughts about unions. Unions are great if they serve their purpose, but most never remain that way. Unions were started to protect the rights of workers, but in this day and age the Labor Board is tasked with just that. So what are the unions doing? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Self-Taught Film — A Pursuit of Expertise in Film
May 19, 2014. We have previously discussed the 16 hero archetypes according to Tami Cowden; eight heroes. The bullying despot, he wants power at any price. He ruthlessly conquers all he surveys, crushing his enemies beneath his feet. People are but pawns to him, and he holds all the power pieces. Hesitate before getting in this man’s way he’ll think nothing of destroying you. Think Cristof (Ed Harris) in. Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) in. Or Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) in.
