Monday, August 9, 2010. Some new products and updates. Honey, Almond and Rosewater Cake. It has been so long since I made an appearance here that it felt a little strange. There is less time for reflection when you are constantly on the move; I'm always thinking about how to improve the business, and I have so many ideas that I can't wait to express and realise , that I don't have a lot of time for self contemplation that is the backbone of good writing. Lime and Yoghurt Cake. I relish seeing regulars co...

Vegetarian * Delicious * Healthy. Friday, August 13, 2010. July 2010 Millennium Cooking Class. So this summer I thought wouldn't it be a good idea to learn how to make bread from scratch. It's seems such a basic human cooking skill, but one I was put off from as a teen. Why? Happily, my July cooking class at Millennium. Taught by Millennium's Executive Chef Eric Tucker. After allowing the dough to rise over good heat, we broke it into baguette sandwiches. See Chef Eric displaying the results above. Here'...

http://astrangerinthealps.blogspot.com/2010/11/veganmofo-2-mushroom-artichoke-risotto.html
A stranger in the alps. This is what happens. Veganmofo #2: mushroom and artichoke risotto! I pretty much guilted myself into making some food tonight so i could do a veganmofo. Post despite the fact that i have lesson plans to write, quizzes to grade, grad school to study for, and sleep to get, i decided on time- and energy-consuming risotto. I used a tyler florence recipe. But it's lovely and creamy and comforting. just the kind of thing i need after the day i've had. Ps suck it, christine o'donnell.

:pastry studio: Hazelnut Cake
http://pastrystudio.blogspot.com/2011/03/hazelnut-cake.html
Friday, March 11, 2011. I have a romantic fascination with hazelnuts because they remind me of the gorgeous Piemonte region of Italy where they are ground with chocolate to prepare the wonder that is gianduja. I love the way hazelnuts find their way into so many fabulous Italian desserts, most of which are nearly impossible to resist. Whether they’re in the form of luxurious ice cream and gelato. Poached pears, balsamic cherries, honeyed apricots. To cover the cake in chocolate glaze: gently heat 3/4 C h...

And I totally deserved it – I was doing a hive inspection alone, and I squi...
