Lee Clark Zumpe Muted Mutterings of a Mad Poet. Home of speculative fiction writer Lee Clark Zumpe. Friday, November 21, 2008. I’ve been so busy producing content for my Tampa Bay Area. Site at About.com I haven’t had much time to keep up with my not-so-secret identity as a horror writer. I’ll be trying to get caught up by the end of the year, submitting dormant stories and, with any luck, completing some new tales along the way. The following stories were submitted to various markets this week:. 8220;Va...

WRITER, TIME TRAVELLER, INVETERATE LIAR. A book review: Ammonite, by Nicola Griffith. I purchased this book in the expectation that it might be a work of hard SF. As it transpires, in my judgment, it’s not (for reasons outlined below); but that didn’t dilute my enjoyment of it. I’ve had only passing acquaintance with Nicola Griffith. S writing before this: so far as I know, the only story of hers that I have read is ‘It Takes Two’, from Jonathan Strahan’s. Anthology ( reviewed here. I noted above that.

Paul on 31 Jan 2015 10:00 am. F&SF March/April 2015. Newly anointed editor C. C. Finlay has released the cover and table of contents of the upcoming issue of. Fantasy and Science Fiction. I like it, not least because I have a story in it: The Mantis Tattoo, 8700 words, a paleolithic fantasy in which the earliest Homo sapiens encounter a trickster god and an older race. And here is the impressive TOC. I’m flattered as all heck to be part of this line-up! A Residence For Friendless Ladies by Alice Sola Kim.

Paul on 17 Sep 2009. 8220;The Mantis Tattoo”. 8220;…I’m not surprised to find that Berger has done it well; his story Subduction was my favorite. Piece from 2014, from the first Finlay-edited issue. This one combines the best of two genres: a neat trickster story from the folklore tradition, and paleontological speculation about the way modern humans might have prevailed in a contest between the species… RECOMMENDED”. 8211; Lois Tilton,. 8211; Gardner Dozois, Locus. 8211; Jerard Betts,. 8211; Sam Tomaino,.
