Tuesday, 30 December 2014. 1960's coat progress. or not. Way back in November I started a coat-making workshop at the Clapham Sew Over It store. Things started well over the four weeks but since the course ended I haven't had a moment to spend on it. I hope to get back to finishing the 1960's coat in the new year. My chosen fabrics - Grey cashmere and wool mix herringbone with bright pink rayon-mix lining. Assembling the many pattern pieces. The centre back seam with the interfaced back and side sections.

Sunday, 25 January 2015. The choices were pretty extensive, they had; pom-poms, safety pins, sequins, beads, wool, embroidery threads, buttons, zips and pockets cut from other garments. I had brought a selection of clothes but decided upon a simple navy gap tunic dress to change. There were no sewing machine available for any complex alterations so opted for a DIY re-fashion with these awesome coloured safety pins - the advantage being when I get bored I can easily remove them! CJ made: Self-drafted Japanese Tree skirt

Saturday, 13 June 2015. Self-drafted Japanese Tree skirt. In the lead up to Me-Made-May I had a creative sense of urgency to complete any unfinished projects and start those ideas that have been knocking around in my head for a while. One such garment started way back in 2013 when I purchased this lovely piece of Japanese Cotton from Ray Stitch that was in the sale for £10 - yeah! A funky bold Japanese print from Ray Stitch. Pockets pinned ready for sewing. Finally I pinned the gathered skirt onto the wa...

Saturday, 29 August 2015. My second Tilly and the Buttons post within the week! When the new patterns were released from T&tB HQ there was a £20 offer for both the Bettine and Fifi. The Fifi is a cute little camisole and shorts pattern - a summer PJ set! My friend Sophie gifted me a beautiful metre of this tropical cotton voile from Hong Kong when she came to stay in London in July. As soon as I saw the Fifi pattern I knew it would be a perfect match! Lovely pleat detailing on the camisole bust area.

A Closet Full of Posies: Three Dresses
http://aclosetfullofposies.blogspot.com/2015/06/three-dresses.html
A Closet Full of Posies. Sunday, June 21, 2015. When last I left Me-Made-May, I wanted to sew some more dresses. There were three new-to-me patterns to try. I will start off with my favourite of the finishes, the Alder Shirtdress. Navy buttons just let the fabric shine through. Fit-wise I am happy with it. I made it just with a mandarin collar. If I make another one, I would lengthen this a bit. Next up, Robe Aubepine. The fabric is Nani Iro Birds Eye ranman. Pattern. I had made Version 1 earlier. Thanks...

Sunday, 31 May 2015. Dixie DIY the Bonnell pattern test. Recently brought out her new dress the Bonnell. In April she asked for volunteers to pattern test the dress before launching it to the public. I was very happy to have been selected to test this lovely dress. If you haven't already seen the Bonnell it is a fitted bodice with cut-out detailing at the sides. It has a lined bodice with a softly gathered skirt with pockets. Is it bad that I have this many possible options in my fabric stash? I love the...

Sunday, August 27, 2006. Posted by KarensCreations at 7:34 PM. Sunday, July 16, 2006. Here is a sling. There has been some questions about the slings that I plan on taking to China. Here I am with one of the slings that I made with directions from Jan Andrea and her website is http:/ www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/index.html#ring. But this sling is very versatile and easy to put together. I bought the rings from www.slingrings.com. Have a great sewing day! Posted by KarensCreations at 7:19 PM.

Just another WordPress weblog. Mark With Ink And Remove With Heat. I was introduced to this pen at a Quilt Show. Marking fabric is always something I am interested in, so I had to own a few of these pens Pilot FriXion Ball Erasable Gel Pens,. Latch Hoop Fabric Tube/Strap Turner. There are a number of fabric turners and methods. I was just at a quilt show where one was being sold upwards of $50. Yes, people have used little safety pins and cord to turn fabric tubes, but this.
