SEW Vancouver

Welcome to my blog where I feature the unique style of the Pacific Northwest. Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Pocket's and Hood are on! The next time I sew laminated cotton I'll make sure to purchase an appropriate foot for it. My Pfaff 2140 has been doing great, but it hasn't been easy. Already bent 1 needle, main motor blocked several times. I'd like to find some more of this fabric so I can cover an Umbrella. If anyone has 1/2 yard or so, and would like to sell it please let me know! The 2 photos above...

SEW Vancouver: January 2011

http://sewvancouver.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Welcome to my blog where I feature the unique style of the Pacific Northwest. Wednesday, January 12, 2011. The jacket is just about complete. All I have left is a couple sections in the front facings, and a button hole. I may end up gifting this away. I will probably wear it once, and hand it over to mom. It's a little too bright for me. I decided not to do hand or machine embroidery, and instead add this top fabric to the cuffs, pocket, and collar. It's a rose embroidery design on black knit.

SEW Vancouver: Junior Rain Jacket

http://sewvancouver.blogspot.com/2011/06/junior-rain-jacket.html

Welcome to my blog where I feature the unique style of the Pacific Northwest. Saturday, June 25, 2011. Prepping the muslin sample. The sample has been completed, and we're now on the real item. The rain jacket will be made from laminated cotton. We're using Amy Butler "rainy days" pattern. I love this pattern because there are multiple sizes inside the envelope, and I will be able to make an additional jacket for myself. This jacket is for my daughter. SEW Vancouver: December 2010

http://sewvancouver.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Welcome to my blog where I feature the unique style of the Pacific Northwest. Wednesday, December 29, 2010. I would use Vilene or another wash away that is not thin. The wash away should feel sort of like fabric. I used sulky, and it just didn’t do it for this project. I would not use that brand in the future for this type of project. How to wash away the stabilizer: Get a bucket of warm water and simply soak the designs in it for 30 or so minutes or until all wash away has dissolved. Knit for the top.

Sew Phantastikos. Vala's creative odyssey

Sew Phantastikos. Vala's creative odyssey. Saturday, 11 May 2013. Old Projects part 6. Another unframed but finished project. Bought on holiday in Wales again in the late 1990's along with the Carew Cross. This I did first but then lost it therefor the cross was framed and this not. A traditional blackwork but worked in different shades of green and highlighted gold thread. Very simplistic but very effective I think. The unstitched parts give the piece more depth. Sew Vala. x.
