An Actor's Life: July 2014
http://wayneburnsactor.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 28, 2014. I have a tenancy to do absolutely nothing, literally stare at the wall, or just walk around my apartment, and feel like that is a better use of my time then reading a book, or watching a film that will educate me. I just sit and scroll endlessly through media feeds hoping for something amazing to show itself and relieve me of the guilt I experience from killing. Am I expecting people to always be interested in my life? Tracking, as I was speaking about in my last post, was helping ...
An Actor's Life: Trifecta.
http://wayneburnsactor.blogspot.com/2015/02/trifecta.html
Monday, February 16, 2015. Over the last month, I've been dealing with a lot of things, speaking to a lot of people, writing a lot, reading a lot and restarting my search for balance. I keep being told things like, "As always, slow down" or "chill out". "This is your life; it's a marathon, not a sprint to the finish."At first, I was getting rather frustrated with this advice, I felt like everyone was asking me to squelch my drive, to become less ambitious. Turns out, it was just the opposite. I'm reachin...
An Actor's Life: April 2014
http://wayneburnsactor.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 28, 2014. C U in 4, Mom. On Friday, I saw Mies Julie. At Place-des-Arts. I was blown away by the whole theatrical experience and am still thinking about what I witnessed that night. The raw energy and emotions had a huge impact on me and each actor’s performance resonated with me in its own intricate way. I was moved entirely by the performance of Zoleka Helesi, who played Christine; she was brilliant and broke my heart more than once. Moms kill me. I love mine too much. Just people, standi...
An Actor's Life: Hiatus
http://wayneburnsactor.blogspot.com/2016/10/hiatus.html
Monday, October 3, 2016. I talk to my mom for about the same amount of time (and frequency) that I would like to be going to the gym every week. This is because I love the shit out of my mom and I've become rather complacent about lifting weights for the sake of looking sexy for strangers. Since moving out on my own, our relationship has moved beyond the Norman Rockwell. A few weeks ago, while I was in rehearsal for Shakespeare in the Ruff's Romeo Juliet. Who am I doing all of this for? A run for her mon...
An Actor's Life: November 2014
http://wayneburnsactor.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 3, 2014. Golden - I Am Not Afraid. Today marks the first day of my next adventure. I flew in from my final week of filming Olympus. Last night, as I rode the bus back into Toronto I had a moment, or an exhale, as I realized, "It is done.". This is not to say that I was waiting for what has been one of the most life changing events of my life to be over, it was acceptance that I've completed one chapter and will now be moving into the next. Between some good/new friends, the biggest piece...
An Actor's Life: October 2014
http://wayneburnsactor.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 7, 2014. A few weekends ago, I attended one of VIFF (Vancouver International Film Festival)'s red carpet events with some of the cast and writer, Nick Willing, of Olympus. Nick Willing, Sonita Henry and I spent the day together on Sunday and the two of them really got me thinking about what it is that has drawn me to this profession. What is it that I'm. Truly fighting for in life, beyond the stage, beyond the camera, what is it that makes my heart beat? I concluded, for now, that I'm lo...
An Actor's Life: June 2014
http://wayneburnsactor.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 18, 2014. As we got ready to leave for the night my fellow employee said that I had passed my restaurant initiation. Later in the week I had my first singing lesson in years with Susan Cuthbert. Who is awesome. She was also Christine in the original Canadian cast of Phantom of the Opera,. I died a slow nostalgic death. For those of you who don't know: My mom and I love Phantom. She said that she uses the same method. I left my lesson feeling so positive and excited for my next one. And al...
An Actor's Life: December 2013
http://wayneburnsactor.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 18, 2013. 1 Down 1 2 Go. I know that I can sometimes come off as harsh and self deprecating but that is not my intention. These posts are for me to create a marker for myself, a period in time to be accountable to. If I have written how I can progress it makes me that much more motivated to change. The more diligent I can be with myself about progression the better I can become. And there we have it: Logged. Now to implement and move forward. Links to this post. Better late than never.

Shakespeare in the Squares was founded by Sue Fletcher and Martin Neild. Our first production in Summer 2016 was Much Ado About Nothing. (see Much Ado About Nothing). This was performed to sell-out audiences in 9 squares and was well received by audiences as a charming production in the bucolic setting of some of London's most beautiful garden squares.
