Paul, Heather, Coal, and Teal. Early June 2011: YKD Brant Imagery Survey, Grandpa Ron, etc. Early June is a busy time for me with the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta brant colony imagery survey. To facilitate the unlikely combination of baby (breast-feeding) and field work, I had a cadre of helpers in the field and on the homefront. (Thanks GayLee and Mike Anthony, Grandpa Ron "the Manny", Ron and Jan Tharldson, and papa Paul). Out with the old and in with the new. The brant imagery survey. We renamed the Husky "S...

Coal's trip was full of new discoveries, reintroductions, and new words. The place we hunt out of in Missouri). My baby-sitter extraordinaire for opening morning (Jim Bogert's granddaughter), allowing me one day's solo hunt! Paul's aunt and uncle).

Paul, Heather, Coal, and Teal. Grandpa Roger and The New Airplane (April 2010). Slowly getting caught up with photos/posts.it's been a busy few months. In late April, Grandpa Roger drove his old (our new) Prius up to Alaska from Iowa; taking the ferry from Prince Rupert to Whittier. Roger stayed for a couple weeks, helping us with the new airplane and enjoying Coal. Great to have Rog up for a while. Followed by some library time. Everything went smoothly on her maiden voyage and the crew was happy.

Paul, Heather, Coal, and Teal. Milestones for the boys. Shiny new super cub. Papa Paul and crew hauled the wings and fuselage down to Lake Hood and assembled the new cub last weekend! She's now tied down next to the rest of the fleet. Our garage feels like an empty skating rink after years of this airplane (and associated accessories) clogging things up. Finishing up the fabric on the flaps and ailerons this weekend, with a possible test flight by next weekend! End of the boob and the binky. Above, from ...

Paul, Heather, Coal, and Teal. The view out mama's window. TeeTee" as Coal calls her, really lights up when big brother is around. 8 1/2 lbs and growing along her own little curve -Teal is so much more interactive than I remember Coal being at this age. She recognizes her own name and loves to laugh and smile at you while you're talking to her. She has good head control and is just starting to push herself up a bit on her forearms. So fun to watch her change. Coal flew in Paul's backseat. Family hikes (m...
