What's Up Arlington: February 2006
http://whatsuparlington.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
An exploration of things to do in Arlington. Tuesday, February 14, 2006. Being Valentine's day, I thought it would be appropriate to write about the most recent cross-cultural cinema -since the movie was a love story (among other things) and since I highlighted it as a "great date.". So, here's my question to you - Why do we as young, lively, intelligent 20s and 30 somethings not go to stuff like this? Because of the time? I'd love to hear your thoughts - what do you think, and how can we change that?

Good question. I asked myself the same thing. I'm fairly new to the whole blog thing. I read "The Blog Log" in the Washington Post Express. And I periodically check to see what is on DCist. And Rides in the City. I think that's considered a blog) but that's about it. In the last edition of. Called Shelter from the St...

What's Up Arlington: March 2006

An exploration of things to do in Arlington. Tuesday, March 21, 2006. This weekend, I played in the ACTA. Arlington County Tennis Association) Annual Social. It was Saturday night - not generally my ideal time to play tennis - and mixed doubles - not exactly my favorite. Plus, everyone was very nice and generally cool. I left feeling like I had had a really fun Saturday night, even if it wasn't a traditional Saturday night type of activity. My confession - I'm sore! So, if you are a tennis player, ACTA h...
What's Up Arlington: September 2006

An exploration of things to do in Arlington. Tuesday, September 19, 2006. I'm not really a big "winery tour and tasting" person. I don't know, it just never seemed that exciting to me. But this past weekend, I went on a trip with staff from Long Branch Nature Center. And I now have a new appreciation for how nice and enjoyable a setting a vineyard can be. This trip went out to Farfelu. Second, they had bocce ba. So, my "take home" points? Well, I've got a couple:. Hope to see you out! And haven't had muc...

What's Up Arlington: June 2006

An exploration of things to do in Arlington. Thursday, June 29, 2006. Ultimate Frisbee in Arlington (and soccer). I've been in to trying new sports lately. I've always been a good athlete, but I grew up in a very small town - basketball, baseball, and football were the only options. As I became more "wordly", I found out that there really were other sports. And now in my adult years, I've really wanted to try new sports. There's always just been one problem - pride! First of all, there is a lot of strate...

An exploration of things to do in Arlington. Thursday, August 24, 2006. Films in the Forest. This past Saturday night, I attended the inaugural "Films in the Forest" event at Long Branch Nature Center. First, if you've never been to the nature center, I strongly recommend it as truly one of those " best keep secrets. It's absolutely beautiful - very wooded, with the stream going by. It's a great, great place! The movie for this week was Whale Rider. If you can make it, I recommend it. I'll be there.

An exploration of things to do in Arlington. Wednesday, April 26, 2006. GW Baseball in Arlington. You may remember a few weeks ago I wrote about GW baseball in Arlington. Recently, on one of those beautiful spring days, I decided to head over to Barcroft Park(field #6 by the way, not #4) to check a game out. GW was playing William and Mary - my alma mater so that was a bonus for me. Go Tribe! My apologies for not rooting for the home team). But I digress. Back to baseball. Posted by Eric at 2:51 AM.
