Mourning into Dancing: Hannah's story
http://erinjustwrite.blogspot.com/2011/11/hannahs-story.html
8220;Christ invites us to remain in touch with the many sufferings of every day and to taste the beginning of hope and new life right there, where we live amid our hurts and pains and brokenness.” Henri Nouwen. Monday, November 14, 2011. Hannah Marie was our third baby, set to join big brother Jackson and big sister Leah. Unfortunately, we didn't get to bring her home. She left this world before she even entered it on November 5, due to a triple nuchal cord and a placenta infection. The baby is coming!

Mourning into Dancing: July 2014

8220;Christ invites us to remain in touch with the many sufferings of every day and to taste the beginning of hope and new life right there, where we live amid our hurts and pains and brokenness.” Henri Nouwen. Sunday, July 20, 2014. I officially rang in our 12th anniversary by waking up my snoring husband at 2:00am to let him know he'd forgotten to put on his cpap mask. Now we sneak out for a couple hours of drinks and appetizers and tell each other to please not waste money on a card. :). It's also so ...

Renew My Home: April 2014
http://renewmyhome.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
The Word, well-chosen, lands perfectly on my raw heart. Wednesday, April 30, 2014. As If Spring Were a Feast. In the last fifteen days, we have had twelve days of rain. This is getting ridiculous. We haven't gone anywhere since Sunday, and the baby is the most stir-crazy of us all. Today is going to be exciting. We're going to the home-improvement store to look for new kitchen faucets. Planned obsolescence" is at the tippy-top of my list of pet peeves. Oh irises, how I love you. A storm that walked on le...

Renew My Home: September 2013
http://renewmyhome.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
The Word, well-chosen, lands perfectly on my raw heart. Sunday, September 29, 2013. I can't say I was Ful-O-Pep when I started out for Junk Bonanza 2013. I had been awake since 4:00 am, long before the baby woke up. I decided to accept the gift of a quiet morning, and I read Gilead. For two blissful hours. I would quote some passages from the book here, but every word is perfect, and I would not be able to stop. But how could I miss all this? Eye candy for someone like me. Yes, everyone, read! This was a...

Renew My Home: November 2013
http://renewmyhome.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
The Word, well-chosen, lands perfectly on my raw heart. Monday, November 25, 2013. Far As the Curse Is Found. This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live." (Deut. 30:19). Last week an acquaintance of mine posted a raw and honest request for prayer. The need was (as it almost always is) for healing, for freedom, and for restoration. For the reversal of the curse. As the go...

Renew My Home: December 2013
http://renewmyhome.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
The Word, well-chosen, lands perfectly on my raw heart. Monday, December 30, 2013. Attending Isaac's college graduation on December 20th. He now has his undergrad in Math and Engineering and is interviewing for jobs. Going to the Murphy Christmas, always a large, loud crowd, but missing Grampa. Having all five of our kids home, and seeing that the baby is loving it. He has so many people to relate to. Anna Kate and I suspected he got bored with us, and now we're sure of it. I hope yours was, too. Unless ...

Renew My Home: October 2013
http://renewmyhome.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
The Word, well-chosen, lands perfectly on my raw heart. Wednesday, October 30, 2013. A week ago today, Nate's dad was placed on hospice care at home. Dad has been living with Parkinson's disease for many years. Since Malachi's arrival sixteen months ago, we have seen Dad decline, so rapidly that at times we can't quite believe the changes as they are occurring. Yet they are all doing what is needed, especially Nate's mom, day in and day out, not knowing how long this season of caregiving will be. Suddenl...

Renew My Home: My Dream House
http://renewmyhome.blogspot.com/2014/07/my-dream-house_12.html
The Word, well-chosen, lands perfectly on my raw heart. Saturday, July 12, 2014. I found another pouf. Even more on sale than the first one. Malachi thinks they are both just for him. He backs up to his chosen pouf carefully, and perches comfortably on the edge. Last night we drove up to The Land again, where Nate's brother and his wife are building a house. We destroyed our recent car wash in the muddy driveway. I got to thinking about my Dream House. My dream house is where my dreams come true. It's ha...

Renew My Home: March 2014
http://renewmyhome.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
The Word, well-chosen, lands perfectly on my raw heart. Friday, March 28, 2014. Live in fragments no longer.". EM Forster, Howard's End). The year I was pregnant with Malachi (yes, it felt like a year), my word was "fearful." I wanted a different word, and I prayed and wrestled to get past it, but when I look back, my journey during those months was marked by fear. Can't they help us? S a song for you, to bless your friendships and your weekend. Posted by Laura Murphy. Labels: All About Baby. So in this ...
