Tuesday, March 6, 2007. 1 I have no intro yet, only a thesis, and I am struggling with this part of the paper! 2 Right now, I like the quotes I've included because they fit with my argument. I also like pointing out the nature theme because it is such a powerful element in the stories. 3 The intro needs major work, and once written, an equally good conclusion. Tuesday, March 6, 2007. Writer’s Response 1. What kind of intro is the author using? Suggest a way to use another effective one. There should be a lot of Hemmingway quotes to use for an intro. As it stands now there really isn’t one, but the thesis is well thought out. Show the presence of nature and self restraint by showing the reader using scenes from the stories. Where is the author describing a scene from one of the stories? Suggest at least one other scene from a story the author could use.

Tuesday, March 6, 2007. What kind of intro are you using? I haven’t written a full introduction yet, but it will include a quote by Chekov that explains the stories I am discussing in my paper. What do you like best about your paper right now? I honestly don’t like much of it, it is bland and rather boring for a literature class. It feels almost technical in nature and exudes no creativity but instead a dry analysis of Misery, An Incident, The Lady with the Dog and The Chorus Girl.
