Sunday, January 5, 2014. Birds in a Blizzard. It's official. We've been upgraded to a blizzard warning here in southwest Michigan. It's been snowing all day and the winds really picked up between 3pm-4pm. Shortly before that I decided to feed the birds. I knew they'd need energy to survive the storm. These are the ones that came to the feeder this afternoon. So this is what I did with my afternoon. I spent it watching the birdies come and go. All in all, a very pleasant day in spite of the storm.
