I really love following the site of Heather Morton. She has so many wonderful observations into the world of photography and puts a different angle on things as an art buyer (with impeccable taste, I might add). Heather is challenging photographers on the topic of "Risk," through a speaking tour in various Canadian locations (darn! Why couldn't she come to Tennessee? ShutterClick: November 2010

http://shutterclicknashville.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

This Fall season has been a busy one and while we have loved every minute of it, we also decided it would be nice to get away. Together our family packed up and spent an extended weekend in The Blue Ridge Mountains. When you need a little solace from the busy world, nothing does the trick like being in a place that is completely removed from all signs of humanity. The scenery was breathtaking and had such a sense of stillness and peace. Here are a few of my favorite shots. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

ShutterClick: Forgotten Spaces

http://shutterclicknashville.blogspot.com/2011/04/forgotten-spaces.html

One of Zak's greatest photographic passions is finding old abandoned places and capturing the mood and emotions of those spaces. Some of my earliest memories of our dates were what we'd call "photo adventures." If there was a "NO TRESPASSING" sign, it was prime for our exploration. April 6, 2011 at 3:04 PM. There you two are! Monday, February 16, 2009. 20 Dirty Hands Galena, Illinois. Ast October we visited my uncle (or great uncle, close enough) in Galena. Its not the biggest town, but its full of all kinds of artist fare. My [maybe great] uncle is Kent Henderson. He's an awesome potter and artist and I have some of his work posted in the photos. (Note: Jewelry isn't his). Some of Kent's Work:. Some Other work we saw there:. 20 Dirty Hands website: www.twentydirtyhands.com. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Shutterclicks and Rambles | Seeing the world, with camera and trike

Seeing the world, with camera and trike. Cycling the Burke-Gilman Trail in Seattle. October 26, 2010 by icetrike. The Burke-Gilman Trail is built on the bed of an old railroad. We were off to Seattle to see the opera (Lucia di Lammermoor) and decided to throw the trikes in the back of the van so that we could explore a rail trail that ran along the shore of Lake Washington, through the university district, and on to Ballard. Courtesy of Hotwire, we found a motel (for $44, regular price $139! The trail wa...
