Candy Land: March 2009
http://misswayward.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 18 March 2009. At a car boot sale a lady was selling packs of around 500 stamps from all around the world for £1.50. How could I say no? The tiny canvases are perfect for incorporating into jewellery and other art projects. I had more fun than I thought I would going through them all. These are seven of my favourite designs. Link to the Past. And white stretch cotton. The faux chain mail was difficult to find, but I eventually found some silver netting in my favourite haunt: Fabric Land. After...

Candy Land: February 2009
http://misswayward.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Monday, 23 February 2009. I traveled up to London recently, and made a point of checking out a couple of craft markets. First up was the Sunday Up Market in Brick Lane. I was completely taken with the area, immediately feeling a great atmosphere. The market itself was full of handmade items, predominantly clothing, cards and jewelery. A few small retailers I'd been following online had stalls, including Buddug. So keep an eye out! I bought a brooch from Rosie Wonders. Sunday, 8 February 2009. A boredom-i...

Shoegazer Fashion: Review: Coco Avant Chanel
http://shoegazerfashion.blogspot.com/2009/08/review-coco-avant-chanel.html
Friday, 14 August 2009. Review: Coco Avant Chanel. Strictly one for the fans methinks. I'd sum up. As beautiful but dull - like. Breathtaking to look at, but the story is less compelling than the costumes. The story moves rather slowly, with the scenes where Coco is inspired being clunky at best. The director stops short of having a lightbulb. Appear above Audrey Tautou's. Head when she sees fishermen in Breton shirts, but only just. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Shoegazer Fashion: I'm so excited
http://shoegazerfashion.blogspot.com/2009/05/im-so-excited.html
Sunday, 31 May 2009. Only 23 more sleeps until Glastonbury - it's time to plan outfits. American Apparel shorts, ancient Clash T-shirt, vintage key chain, ebay glasses. Gap T-shirt, H&M leggings. American Apparel vest, H&M vest (worn as skirt), vintage scarf bag. Miss Sixty cut-offs, H&M top. I am most looking forward to wearing these outfits while watching the Specials, Steel Pulse, Passion Pit, Animal Collective, the Virgins and Dizzee Rascal . anyone else going to festivals this summer?

Shoegazer Film: The Hangover - Won't Give You A Headache
http://shoegazerfilm.blogspot.com/2009/06/hangover-wont-give-you-headache.html
Monday, 22 June 2009. The Hangover - Won't Give You A Headache. I normally don't leave the comfort of my home for anything less than free booze or a film that involves robots or lasers in some way - Transformers 2's got my name all over it, as has the restraining order Shia LeBeouf made me sign, but I digress - so what tempted me to fork out a tenner (damn you, London prices) to see The Hangover? Was it Bradley Cooper's fine ass? The film is geniuinely funny on a level that looks down on teen 'lol omfg h...

Shoegazer Film: Star Trek - Going Boldly
http://shoegazerfilm.blogspot.com/2009/05/going-boldly.html
Wednesday, 13 May 2009. Star Trek - Going Boldly. The Trek franchise may have lost its spark somewhere in amongst the miriad of diminishing returns, but prepare to put all that behind you. JJ Abrams' brave new reinvention has not only reignited the spark, it's also burning damn hot, and I'm not just talking about the cast. With inspired casting everywhere you look, each introduction will put a huge smile on your face. Chris Pine doesn't impersonate the Shatner - how could you? You'll feel as if you're wa...

Shoegazer Film: District 9
http://shoegazerfilm.blogspot.com/2009/09/district-9.html
Sunday, 27 September 2009. I have a recurring nightmare where my teeth fall out. This is part of the reason why half an hour into District 9 I thought I'd made a terrible mistake. By the end I was satisfied it was one of the best sci-fi movies I've ever seen. For maximum enjoyment, I recommend seeing this movie with only this information. The man in charge of the aliens' (named only colloquially as Prawns) relocation to District 10 is Wikus Van De Merwe, a pencil pusher from MNU. Played fantastically...
