As part of my A2 Media course I have to put together a research project about Almodovar’s Representation Of Women. Any opinions or insights any of you have would be great. Are there any common factors that link the women in his films? Do you think his sexuality affects his depiction of women? Anything else you thing would be useful for me.

I am composing a research study on good old Pedro, and am looking into his representation of women in film (seems kinda popular in this community.sorry! I’ve chosen my three favourite films of his; ‘Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown’, ‘All About My Mother’ and ‘Volver’, as I feel these promote a wide range of female roles, and do not just encompass the stereotypical female dichotomy of ‘mother or whore’ as many Hollywood mainstream, or even many other Spanish films do. January 25th, 2009. A hodgepodge of icons. Wow, these icons are all over the map. I once again realised that I had ended up with quite a few random icons, and decided to post them all in one go. The first batch is from quite an obscure film, even for Finns - Mika Kaurismäki's debut, Valehtelija. From 1981. One of my favourite Kaurismäki films, actually. 19] The Liar (Valehtelija). 6] FAKE (new chapters). 19] Mimi wo Sumaseba. I bet no ones ever made an icon post quite like this. Jumping on the Star Trek TOS wagon. Jumping on the Star Trek TOS wagon. Okay, ever since the new Star Trek movie came out, everyone has gone classic Trek crazy. Which is all fine and good if you ask me; credit where it's due. Since I'm apparently a shameless attention whore, here's my contribution to this fad: a few dozen Star Trek icons, mostly from the excellent episode The City on the Edge of Forever.
