My Journey after weight loss surgery. Weigh-in Wednesday – Week 10. Published August 14, 2013. Okay, let’s get to the numbers first. I have lost another 2 pounds. That’s 31 pounds since surgery and 80 pounds since starting my pre-surgery diet in February. I would have liked to have been at around a 35 pound loss since surgery, but I really shouldn’t be too upset with these results considering my last couple of weeks of challenges. The “Sami Spirit Squad” in full effect. First Challenge: Tailgate Party.

I really couldn’t be happier with my progress. My goal weight (the doctor set for me for my height and age) is about 69 pounds away. My Journey after weight loss surgery. Weigh-In Wednesday…Peachy Keen Week 15. Published September 18, 2013. I can’t believe it’s been 15 weeks since my surgery in June. In some ways, time has flown by. In other ways, it seemed to move slower than molasses in winter. I think back to those liquid days, followed by puree’d days, and I am so glad they are behind me. I have settled into my new way of thinking and eating quite nicely. Almost 100 pounds in a little less than 7 months. 1/2 cup Cottage Cheese.

I never expected a complication so far out from my surgery, let alone having a leak in my stomach so far out. My doctor says it’s incredibly rare this far out, so why did it have to happen to me? I was in hospital for a week, 6 very long nights away from kids, 7 days of constant tears. What happens if it is worse next time?
