Wednesday, 20 May 2009. The cars on SZR have been driving noticeably slower than usual since last month. It has come to our conclusion that the RTA has recently dialed down the trigger limit by a notch. The speed cameras along SZR used to flash at 120 km/h (Speed limit is 100km/h). The rumour is that now the cameras will set off at 110km/h. And the current speeding ticket costs 500 AED, instead of the usual 200 AED. So to every one, drive safely and drive within the speed limit. Monday, 18 May 2009.

Wednesday, 8 July 2009. What's inside the Salik Tag? I just sent an email to customerservice@salik.ae to terminate my Salik account. With an obsolete Salik tag, the only thing I can do is to cut it open. There's nothing spectacular, just a little computer chip and some foils. I still have 28 AED in my account but I was told that I would not be able to get back the balance. Too bad. So keep the change, RTA. Monday, 13 July 2009. DEWA is having a campaign to encourage the public to pay their bills online. The poster above claims that it is giving away a laptop every day, and a Camry every 3 months. In the past 2 months, I had this message coming up onto my screen every time I tried to pay any of my bills online. Either way, I can't pay any bills using epay now. What a successful campaign. Thursday, 19 February 2009. Found this tiny restaurant 2 blocks away from my office. So far I have tried Nasi Lemak, Seafood Char Kuay Teow, Nasi Rendang and Soto Ayam. Let's just say, "Food court no more! The price is very reasonable. 30 AED for a dish and a drink. They even have teh tarik, iced milo and ginger tea on the menu. The taste is authentic and I am a very satisfied customer. So for anyone who is looking for Indonesian/Singapore food in Dubai, this is your answer. Wednesday, 18 February 2009.
