Thinking About Social Media: Smarter or Dumber(er)
http://kk-itec656.blogspot.com/2010/02/smarter-or-dumberer.html
Thinking About Social Media. A variety of posts to improve my blogging familiarity and skills. What Social Network Fits You Best? Saturday, February 6, 2010. No more, no less. That is the answer. So what is the question? Does the internet make us dumber or smarter? This is a running debate with no scientific answer. I am inclined to believe the internet has not changed the smart/dumb ratio (for lack of a more intellectual term). Which has a neutral impact to my smart/dumb. February 8, 2010 at 7:54 PM.

Thinking About Social Media: More 'A' vs 'B'

Thinking About Social Media. A variety of posts to improve my blogging familiarity and skills. What Social Network Fits You Best? Saturday, February 27, 2010. More 'A' vs 'B'. Several statements stuck with me after watching Lawrence Lessig's. Keynote on privacy and the internet. One of which was the lingering information on the internet that never goes away. To think that one wrong click could harm you 30 years from now is a scary proposition. Probably something that resembles a video game. that may ...

Wading through Social Media: March 2010
http://carissaroxie.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Wading through Social Media. Monday, March 1, 2010. We've created a monster! However, it would be foolish to underestimate this generation. Even more so than myself, at the age of 28, this generation has completely integrated social media and networking technologies into their lives. Sure, I have a pretty good grasp on these things, and am actively trying to learn more, but these kids breath social media, and the technological tools are an extension of their own bodies. Wading through Social Media: LinkedIn... really?
http://carissaroxie.blogspot.com/2010/02/linkedin-really.html
Wading through Social Media. Monday, February 22, 2010. Am I the only person out there who really can't get into LinkedIn? Somehow I doubt it. but why is it that such a potentially powerful tool isn't really catching on? I think it is because it takes all the fun out of social media. Today's professional certainly needs a presence on LinedIn, but what insentives do we have to actually visit the site on a regular basis? There are no changes occuring so I have no reason to visit. Blogger on the Run. I use ...

Inna CA: Just Google it...duh?!
http://ishub656.blogspot.com/2010/02/just-google-itduh.html
Sunday, February 7, 2010. Just Google it.duh? I think the internet is part of our everyday lives and definitely effects the way that we process information, but to say that it makes us stupid is bold and in my opinion incorrect. We have all been to a gathering were a particular topic comes up and everyone is enjoying the conversation, until we get stuck and want to know more. That is usually when you hear a friend say…well, just Google it. Hey, if this is something that works, why do it any other way?

Sunday, January 24, 2010. Virtual brainstorming.yes please. When I think of crowdsourcing I imagine a group of people coming together and either coming up with a solution or compiling different ideas. The crowd could be coming together in person, but with the many different platforms out there virtual brainstorming is the next big craze. One company that has been experimenting with this idea is IBM, by conducting different JAM sessions. And a Smarter Planet JAM in 2009. I think the wisdom of the crowd.
